1. gLAdiator is a DJ/production duo comprised of Dan Goodman & Ian Johnson. Hailing from the City of Angels, the duo is on a warpath, rocking crowds and creating robot sex music.
Drawing influences from genres like electro, hip-hop and moombahton, as well as artists such as Laidback Luke, Jack Beats, Boys Noize, Bart B More, Clockwork, Dada Life, Munchi, Wolfgang Gartner, JWLS, Dave Nada, gives their music a unique sound all its own.
Their music has been supported by the likes of Diplo, David Heartbreak, Valentino Khan, Bastille, DJ Benzi, Valerna, ETC!ETC!, Aylen & Dillon Francis. They have also shared the stage with artists such as Gary Richards (Destructo) of HARD fame, Religion, Mord Fustang, Chiddy Bang, Dan Deacon, Dead Prez, Das Racist, Munchi, Sam Hiller (formerly of PeaceTreaty), Matisyahu & Mr. White.
These artists and an undying love for the Los Angeles Lakers inspired them to start making booty-poppin tracks in the hopes of seducing Mila Kunis.
2. Gladiator is a band formed in 2007 in Clearwater, Florida that focuses on a Progressive Metal style of music that jumps from calm and jazzy one moment, to typical metal sounds the next. However, this is no typical metal band. With a wide range of influences, the band mixes genres that is uncommon in the industry. The band is entirely instrumental, meaning that they don't have to worry about a terrible singer screwing up the songs. Each song is highly technical, yet still able to make one head bang and often time, during the jazzy parts, want to dance.
Because the band is so young, they have only released one album thus far:

3. Gladiator je slovenská rocková skupina, ktorú roku 1989 spolu s kamarátorm Georgiom Babulicom založili bratia Miko, Maroš a Dušan Hladký. Členovia skupiny pochádzajú z Alekšiniec, dediny blízko Nitry. Žánrovo sa prikláňali k metalu, medzi ich najväčšie hudobné vzory patrila skupina Metallica.
Hudobná kariéra
Po dvoch rokoch úspešného účinkovania na amatérskych koncertoch a festivaloch, v roku 1991 kapela dostala od českého hudobného vydavateľstva Zeras ponuku na nahratie ich debutového albumu. Ich videoklip k skladbe „Profitable Losses“ (1992) z tohto albumu, ktorý vyšiel pod názvom Designation bol prvým slovenským videoklipom, ktorý bol vysielaný v programoch americkej hudobnej stanice MTV.
Po tomto úspechu hneď v nasledujúcom roku 1993 vychádza skupine Gladiator u slovenského vydavateľstva Škvrna Records ich druhý thrash metalový album pod názvom Made of Pain. Videoklip k skladbe z albumu „My World“ je znovu vysielaný na MTV, ale aj na nemeckom hudobnom kanáli VIVA. Skladba „My World“ je zároveň prvou, ktorá sa objavuje na priečkach slovenských hitparád.
V prvej polovici 90. rokov vrcholí vo svete popularita hudobného štýlu grunge, ktorého najvýznamnejšími predstaviteľmi boli skupiny Nirvana, Pearl Jam a Alice in Chains. Tento žáner bol blízky aj členom skupiny Gladiator, bol pre nich inšpiráciou pre nové melodické nápady, rozhodli sa preto pre zmenu ich thrash metalového štýlu a táto skutočnosť ovplyvnila ich nasledujúce nahrávky, ktoré vyšli na ich treťom albume z roku 1994 pod názvom Third Eye. Album mal aj napriek zmene štýlu dobrú predajnosť. Skladba „In Your Head“ sa stala hitom na Slovensku aj v zahraničí. Okrem Slovenska skupina koncertuje aj v Nemecku a Francúzsku. V tomto roku odchádza zo skupiny jeden z bratov, Dušan, ktorého na poste gitaristu nahrádza Rasťo Krčmárik.
Štvrtý album skupiny, ktorý vyšiel pod názvom Dogstime (1996) získava päť nominácií na ceny Grand Prix Slovensko 1997, slovenskej obdoby Grammy. Album získal dve ocenenia: Videoklipom roka 1996 sa stal klip ku skladbe „Sweet Little Mouse“, nakrútený režisérom Karolom Vosátkom, a zvukár Ján Došek získal pre tento album ocenenie za Zvuk roka 1996. V tomto roku sa opäť mení gitarista skupiny na miesto Rasťa Krčmárika prichádza Rasťo Toman.
V roku 2000 bola skupina nominovaná kategóriách skupina roka 1999 aj interpret roka 1999 a na album roka za album Viem, kde Boh spí.

In Gladiator's song Obyčajný chalan, the lyrics convey a sense of contentment with the singer's current situation in life, despite the fact that he is not wealthy or famous. The first stanza begins with the hypothetical scenario of the singer being born into a rich and famous family, and how he would use his wealth to build a house out of golden bricks and relax with his feet up. However, the second stanza acknowledges that the singer is just an ordinary guy with ripped jeans, but he finds more enjoyment in this lifestyle. The third stanza begins with another imagined scenario of the singer having more wealth and power, but ultimately decides that he is happy with his life just the way it is.
The song can be interpreted as a commentary on societal expectations and the idea that happiness and fulfillment do not necessarily come from material possessions or fame. The singer seems content with his current situation despite not having everything that society deems as success. The lyrics also suggest a rejection of traditional notions of success and a celebration of simple joys and pleasures.
