In 1944, Glenn took his band to Great Britain, performed for the troops and did radio broadcasts.
On December 15th, 1944, Glenn Miller boarded a transport plane to Paris, never to be seen again. The band was kept together to perform, mainly under the leadership of Tex Beneke.

I have my Dad to thank for my love of Glenn Miller music. He met Glen Miller in London outside the stage door waiting for his autograph. That autograph was his pride and joy.

My Dad just passed away--he was in the Marine Corps, in World War 2, in the Pacific, and was awarded a Purple Heart. This music will always remind me of him. RIP, Dad.😢💒
