In summer 1993, Oriol Farré, Juanjo Muñoz, Natxo Tarrés and Roger Farré from Manresa, joined together to start a new band. They won an award with their first record "Gossos" (1994). After a few tours in Catalonia they edited their 2nd record "En privat" in 1996. Followed by "Mandala" (1997) and "Directament" (1998, recorded in the "Teatre Conservatori" of Manresa) with the collaboration of other consolidated members of the Catalan Rock like Cris Juanico, Gerard Quintana and Pemi Fortuny. In 2000 they recorded "De viaje", their only album in Castillian so far, followed by "Cares" (2001).
In 2002 they move away from their acoustical style to start using electric guitars and drums. Their latest albums recorded are "El Jardí del Temps" (2003), "8" (2005) and Oxygen (2007).

The song "Conte de Nova York" by Gossos tells the story of a night in New York during Christmas time. The singer was very drunk and an old man told him that he wouldn't see any more Christmases. The old man sang a song about an old whiskey and the singer turned away and dreamt about his loved one. He was lucky and won a bet, and believed that this would be their year. The singer wishes his loved one a Merry Christmas and believes that the future will be better.
The song then talks about the beautiful city of New York with shiny cars and rivers of gold and silver, but also the reality that time moves on and the old things are swept away. The singer and his loved one held hands on Christmas night, and she told him that Broadway was waiting for him. The scene changes when the singer talks to someone who they had previously been in a relationship with, and the dialogue turns into a heated argument. However, the song ends on a more positive note with everyone singing "Silent Night" and the bells ringing for Christmas.
In general, the song evokes a feeling of nostalgia and longing for things that have passed. It is a story about love and loss, and how life is constantly changing. Overall, the lyrics are deep and poetic.
