Grinspoon changed their sound to more mainstream rock by their 2002 album, New Detention, gaining fans and peaking at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Charts; similarly 2007's Alibis & Other Lies also reached No. 2. Their 2004 album, Thrills, Kills & Sunday Pills, which peaked at No. 4, won the 2005 'Best Rock Album Award' at the ARIA Music Awards.
The band was signed to Universal Records in United States by late 1998, they were promoted by the songs "Champion", which featured in Gran Turismo 3; "Post Enebriated Anxiety", which was on the international version of Guide to Better Living; "Chemical Heart", via the internet; and a cover of the Prong song "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck", from Grinspoon's Pushing Buttons EP, which was included on ECW: Extreme Music.
On 4 December 2013, they announced that they were going on an indefinite hiatus to pursue individual projects.

I hope that you had a better day
Tried to call round the other day
Instead i had a go-kart
Go-kart
Living in another space
Mistake why-yeah
I hope the police will go away
Their sirens bug me and so do all their radar's
Radar's
Living in another space
Mistake
Thanks I'm over it
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah yeah why-why-yeah
Sweet child your such a princess now
I love the rainbow on your brow
I love your rainbow, oh no it's winter
Winter
Living in another space
Mistake
Thanks I'm over it
Grinspoon's song "Just Ace" is a fast-paced, energetic track with an infectious chorus. The lyrics are cryptic, but upon closer analysis, it becomes clear that the song is about a failed relationship. The opening lines, "Since since, since since your gone away, I hope that you had a better day," suggest that the singer's former partner has left them. They are fondly remembering their time together and wishing them well.
The second verse, "I hope the police will go away, their sirens bug me and so do all their radar's," is a metaphorical reference to the constant reminders of the former partner in the singer's life. They are looking for closure and to move on. The chorus, "Living in another space, mistake, thanks I'm over it," is a declaration that the singer is ready to put the past behind them and move forward with their life.
Overall, "Just Ace" is a song about finding closure in a broken relationship and moving on from the pain. The repeated chant of "yeah!" in the chorus seems to be a release of energy and emotion, a way of letting go of the past and embracing the future.

Damn. This was from an era where music still had value and you couldn't just download it from the internet. I miss those times. Such an epic track. I still remember catching a bus and then a tram to the record store to pick this up and tix to the gig after hearing it on Triple J. Holy shit...when did I turn old :(
@chooky4626
