Letting Go
Gus G. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

My thoughts are terrifying, behind opened eyes
There′s no conviction, there's no crime
Inside this prison they will hide me from the night
I′m just a product of my past, oh

I don't want to, I just need to
Tell me everything's fine, fine, fine
A light in the darkness, it leads me to hope
A man in the making
I won′t be a failure, I′ve got so much to give
So I want you to know, I'm letting go

I′ve got to block out diabolical displays
Before they come for me again
Going about my way, they review every move
When will this madness ever end? If ever...

A light in the darkness, it leads me to hope
A man in the making
I won't be a failure, I′ve got so much to give
So I want you to know, I'm letting go

A light in the darkness, it leads me to hope
A man in the making
I won′t be a failure, I've got so much to give
So I want you to know, I'm letting go

A light in the darkness

I won′t be a failure, I′ve got so much to give
So I want you to know, I'm letting go - I′m letting go

@Mike Although I am Greek and I wasn't really "content" to hear that gus wasn't to tour with ozzy (because...ozzy albums is another thing alltogether...steve steavens!?!?), I fear ozzy is at his last tour more or less.

His recent live videos with zakk wylde (which I am not really fond of in general) are terrible. He can't pretty much change pitch and he is downtuned 2,5 tones down. So the songs are slow and warbly. Better to give up.

BUT, for the last tour, it should be zakk wylde. I mean the guy is an asshole more or less. But it is ozzy's asshole (lol) and practically family and fans wanted him to close the ozzy chapter the same way they wanted ozzy to front the last black sabbath tour for example.

I totally understand it and in some way I think even zakk wylde got it as well and that brings me to your point because, in those last live recordings he tries (?) to play the solos as accurate to the original as they can be (well he is zakk wylde anyway) vs the past. As if he wants to give fans their money's worth if it is indeed their last gigs together. Who knows.

He also dedicates the crowley solo to randy rhoads directly pointing at the sky.

Zakk wylde and gus g are very good on terms with each other.

Gus never disappoints me, ever. Whether a band scenario or solo, the dude delivers. I own everything on which he’s played. Fantastic guitarist, songwriter and fella. It’s too bad Ozzy’s camp never tasked Gus to write an album. I guarantee Mr. G. could have delivered a classic Oz record. Anyway, yeah, Gus’ new effort is an instant buy. Hail.

Arco van Akkeren

While I am a huge fan of the music Gus brings out (solo or band effort) I still wonder why the O-camp said he 'couldn't deliver'..

TheTrueFortress I'm right there with you man, Gus is the real deal through and through, Ozzy screwed up by rehashing it with Zakk (don't get me wrong, I love Zakk too, No Rest for the Wicked is classic), Gus would've been better!
