Makin' the most of the ride before we get arrested,
We’re all wasted,
And we’re not going home tonight
Covered in black we lack the social graces,
Just like an animal we crawl out of our cages,
They can’t tame us,
If you’re a freak like me,
Wave your flag!
If you’re a freak like me,
Get off your ass!
It’s our time now,
To let it all hang out
So shout if you’re a freak like me,
You were born to burn,
This is no disease you don’t need a cure!
It’s our time now to come out!
If you’re a freak like me!
If you’re a freak like me!
We’re underground but we will not surrender,
We’re gonna give them something to remember, yeah,
So write your name in gasoline,
And set that shit on fire
If you’re a freak like me,
Wave your flag!
If you’re a freak like me,
Get off your ass!
It’s our time now,
To let it all hang out
So shout if you’re a freak like me,
Don’t apologize,
They can’t hold you down,
You were born to rise!
It’s our time now to come out!
If you’re a freak like me
If you’re a freak like me
Are you a freak like me?
Are you a freak, like, me?!
If you’re a freak like me,
Wave your flag!
If you’re a freak like me,
Get off your ass!
It’s our time now,
To let it all hang out
So shout if you’re a freak like me,
Don’t apologize,
They can’t hold you down,
You were born to rise!
It’s our time now to come out!
If you’re a freak like me!
If you’re a freak like me!
If you’re a freak like me!
If you’re a freak like me!
If you’re a freak like me!
The song 'Freak Like Me' by Halestorm is about celebrating individuality and the freedom to be oneself regardless of societal pressure. The lyrics speak to those that are labeled as outsiders and misfits. The first verse talks about riding the train with people who are seen as sick and twisted, and how they are making the most of their ride before getting arrested. It talks about their lack of etiquette and how they refuse to be tamed or fit into society's mold. The chorus encourages those who identify as freaks to wave their flag and get off their ass, to let it all hang out and be proud of who they are, unapologetically.
The second verse speaks to the underground movement of freaks who refuse to surrender, and want to be remembered. The lyrics encourage them to write their names in gasoline and set it on fire as a sign of strength and defiance against those who try to keep them down. The chorus repeats the call to action for all freaks to wave their flag, get off their ass, and embrace their uniqueness without apology or shame.
Overall, the song is a celebration of individuality and standing out from the crowd. It encourages people to embrace their weirdness and refuse to be tamed or silenced by societal norms.

I am part of this group of unconventional people on this wild ride of life.
Makin' the most of the ride before we get arrested,
Let's live life to the fullest before society reins us in.
We’re all wasted,
We're intoxicated, not only by alcohol, but by this uninhibited lifestyle.
And we’re not going home tonight
We're going to party all night long and never look back.

We dress and act differently from the mainstream, and may seem rude or inappropriate to some.

+Alexis PM Lzzy & Halestorm have been to our silly state of South Dakota many, many times & in the beginning, they were the front band for bands like the now infamous, Five Finger Death Punch! I've heard many radio interviews with Lzzy & she is an absolute humble sweetie in 'real' life! Love to see her success! Rock On!
