Lugubriously
Harmful Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
.. slick icy places... regarded as demise... denuded of all pride
I wonÃ''t deter from... what youÃ''ve always been
Lugubriously... feeling little because unhappy.
.. when she felt a lump her head... your unexpressed divided parts
undeserved... which means the end of all design
I wonÃ''t rely on... what youÃ''ve always been
Lugubriously... feeling little because unhappy.
.. when she felt a lump her head... your unexpressed divided parts
How can I judge a life this way... when my own is in disarray
Lugubriously... feeling little because unhappy.
.. when she felt a lump her head... your unexpressed divided parts
The lyrics of Harmful's song Lugubriously paint a bleak picture of someone who seems good looking on the surface, but is immersed in a world of slick, icy places and regarded as a demise. The person seems to have been stripped of all pride, and is denuded of any real substance. The singer of the song is saying that they won't deter from what this person has always been, despite their surface attractiveness.
The word "lugubriously" is used throughout the song to describe a feeling of deep sadness and melancholy. The singer is feeling little because they are unhappy, and the mention of feeling a lump in their head suggests that they may be struggling with a mental health issue. Meanwhile, the "unexpressed divided parts" of this other person may refer to their inner turmoil and the fact that they are disconnected from their true self.
The final verse of the song is introspective, with the singer questioning how they can judge someone else's life when their own is in disarray. The song seems to be about grappling with the complexities of human existence and the challenges we all face in finding a sense of purpose and happiness amidst the chaos of the world.
