Alone Together
Harry Lyrics

Above the world, we're not too proud
To cling together, we're strong
As long as we're together.
Alone together, the blinding rain
The starless night were not in vain;
For we're together, and what is there
Our love is as deep as the sea,
Our love is as great as a love can be,
And we can weather the great unknown,
If we're alone together.
The lyrics of "Alone Together" by Harry Edison and Ben Webster explore the concept of finding strength and comfort in a shared connection. The song suggests that even though the world may seem overwhelming and isolating at times, when two people come together and support each other, they can overcome any obstacles. The opening lines, "Alone together, beyond the crowd, Above the world, we're not too proud," indicate that the individuals in this relationship are willing to set aside their egos and be vulnerable with each other.
The second verse continues to emphasize the power of their togetherness. The reference to "the blinding rain" and "the starless night" suggests that they have faced difficult and challenging times, but those experiences were not in vain because they faced them together. The refrain, "Our love is as deep as the sea, Our love is as great as a love can be," reinforces the depth and intensity of their connection. It suggests that their love is strong enough to withstand any doubts or uncertainties that may arise.
Overall, "Alone Together" conveys a message of resilience and love, highlighting the transformative power of companionship in navigating life's ups and downs. The song encourages listeners to find solace and strength in each other, ultimately suggesting that as long as they are together, they can face anything that comes their way.
