I let you
We broke the ties that bind
I wanted to forget you
And leave the past behind
Still, the magic of the night I met you
Seems to stay forever in my mind
And high above
The moon was new
And so was love
This eager heart of mine was singing
Lover where can you be
You came at last
Love had its day
That day is past
You've gone away
This aching heart of mine is singing
Lover come back to me
When I remember every little thing
You used to do
I'm so lonely
Every road I walk along
I walk along with you
No wonder I am lonely
The sky is blue
The night is cold
The moon is new
But love is old
And while I'm waiting here
This heart of mine is singing
Lover come back to me
When I remember every little thing
You used to do
I grow lonely
Every road I walk along
I walk along with you
No wonder I am lonely
The sky is blue
The night is cold
The moon is new
But love is old
And while I'm waiting here
This heart of mine is singing
Lover come back to me
The song "Lover Come Back to Me" by Harry James and His Orchestra is a classic love song that depicts the feelings of heartbreak and longing for a lost lover. The first verse of the song talks about how the singer and the lover broke up and how the singer wanted to move on and forget about the past. However, the memory of the night they met remains in the singer's mind. The second verse is about how much the singer misses the lover and how every little thing they used to do together reminds the singer of their past love.
The use of imagery in the song, specifically the moon and the night sky, adds to its romantic and nostalgic feel. The constant repetition of the phrase "Lover come back to me" in both verses emphasizes the longing and desperation of the singer. Overall, the song captures the sorrowful and relatable emotions one often feels after a break-up but also emphasizes the hope and desire for love to come back.

You went away
You left and departed from my life
I let you
I allowed you to leave
We broke the ties that bind
We ended our relationship and connection
I wanted to forget you
I desired to erase you from my memory
And leave the past behind
And move on from the history we shared
Still, the magic of the night I met you
Regardless, the enchanting moment when we first encountered each other
Seems to stay forever in my mind
Continues to linger endlessly in my consciousness
The sky was blue
The color of the sky was a vivid blue shade
And high above
And situated far overhead
The moon was new
The moon was in its beginning phase
And so was love
And our love was just starting
This eager heart of mine was singing
My enthusiastic heart was singing joyfully
Lover where can you be
Where could you, my beloved, be found?
You came at last
Finally, you arrived
Love had its day
Our love was thriving and had blossomed
That day is past
That time has since gone by
You've gone away
You are no longer present in my life
This aching heart of mine is singing
My pained heart is singing mournfully
Lover come back to me
Please return to me, my beloved
When I remember every little thing
Whenever I recollect even the slightest detail
You used to do
Things you previously did
I'm so lonely
I feel desolate and isolated
Every road I walk along
Each path I traverse
I walk along with you
I imagine that you're with me
No wonder I am lonely
It's understandable why I am so disconsolate
The sky is blue
The color of the sky is still a vivid blue shade
The night is cold
The evening is chilly
The moon is new
The moon is still in its beginning phase
But love is old
Yet, our love is mature and has endured
And while I'm waiting here
And during the time I'm waiting here
This heart of mine is singing
My heart continues to sing
Lover come back to me
Please come back to me, my beloved
