Hawk Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Who's got all the facts and all the numbers
Who's gonna wake them all up from their slumber
Who's gonna turn their party into a real bummer
A clever motherfucker
I worked pretty hard for this coma
Good things that I showed up
Here's my persona- I talk just like a grownup
I'm saying one with a diploma
This is a gulag thats why you're all opponents
You'd hate a fact just to prove you're so devoted
Whole thing is screwed up man I think that I provoked
Cause I focused on the worst case
And then everyone approached it
Drones. Now you'll never have to feel alone.
I'm in my zone
You can stay out of my home
God I'm so bored
Of your death squad and your wars
I've got a gun on my porch
I hope it keeps getting worse
You thought I was yours
But then you told me worth
And now I want to go first
You were having fun and I'm the cure
The paradoxes of all your tolerance
It's funding fine if you're too late isn't it
The paradoxes of all your tolerance
You hate something just enough and you might fix it
Drones. Now you never have to feel alone
I'm in my zone
You can stay out of my home
God I'm so bored
Of your death squad and your wars
I've got a gun on my porch
I hope it keeps getting worse
You thought I was yours
But then you told me my worth
And now I want to go first
You were having fun and I'm the cure
Disarray's in business
Do the right thing and keep your distance

If you swore an oath I know that you're a snitch
Do the right thing and keep your distance

Overall Meaning

The song "Clvrmfkr" by Hawk speaks about the frustration of an individual who is fed up with the societal norms and systems that exist. The lyrics could be interpreted as a call for change and the need to speak up against the status quo. The opening lines of the song, "Who's got all the facts and all the numbers, Who's gonna wake them all up from their slumber," conveys that there is a need for awakening and awareness. The next line, "Who's gonna turn their party into a real bummer, A clever motherfucker," indicates the need for someone who can challenge the status quo and bring about change.

The following lines are a reflection of the singer's personal journey and how they have worked hard to get to where they are, "I worked pretty hard for this coma, Good things that I showed up, Here's my persona- I talk just like a grownup." The singer seems to be proud of their achievements but also recognizes that the system in which they exist is flawed. The lines "This is a gulag that's why you're all opponents, You'd hate a fact just to prove you're so devoted," could be interpreted as a critique of the system and how people are willing to defend it blindly, even if it is not in their best interest.

The song also mentions the use of drones, which could represent the detachment and isolation people feel in the age of technology. The line "Drones. Now you'll never have to feel alone. I'm in my zone, You can stay out of my home" implies a sense of disconnection and a desire for privacy. Overall, the song is a call for action and change, encouraging listeners to be more aware and participate in bringing about change.
