At the end of 2016, Hayley celebrated the release of her major-label debut EP CITRINE, which included pop confections "Pretty Girl" and "Palace", by launching her nationwide "One Bad Night Tour". The completely sold-out headline tour saw Hayley performing her new music for her passionate and devoted fans in cities throughout the US. According to Baeble, Hayley "managed to turn a sold out Studio at Webster Hall into an intimate dance party for everyone to feel free in a safe zone."
Following singles including "Sleepover", "Feelings", and "Curious" have been released to accompany her debut studio album Expectations, which was released on March 30, 2018. The album reached the top 20 of the charts in United States, Canada and Australia. She has also created a comic book, with the help of Naomi Franquiz and Marla Vazquez, based on her song "Gravel to Tempo".
Kiyoko was a founding member of The Stunners in 2007. The group supported Justin Bieber's My World Tour, before disbanding in 2011.
Kiyoko was born to figure skater/choreographer Sarah Kawahara and actor/comedian Jamie Alcroft. Her mother is from Canada and her father is from Ohio, USA.
Wild & Wicked World
Hayley Kiyoko Lyrics

I'm no good for [?]
When finally awake
I'm out here on my own
Shout out loud, you won't know
Shout out loud, it won't show
I'll never make a sound
Slow and steady stroke
Stubborn, beautiful
Careful as I go
In this wild and wicked world
I go
Take me to the moon
Where I can sleep 'til noon
Living my today
I don't care what you say
I scream and shout, they shun me out
And I'm trying hard to make it count
I get by, I can't deny
I know every single reason why
Slow and steady stroke
Stubborn, beautiful
Careful as I go
In this wild and wicked world
I go
Be careful of what we think we know
Black rivers turn to gold
Keep looking up
To feel the glow
Slow and steady stroke
Stubborn, beautiful
Careful as I go
In this wild and wicked world
I go
Careful as I go
In this wild and wicked world
I go
The opening lines of the song "Days they circle round, I'm no good for this" suggests the singer is stuck in a cyclical pattern and feeling disconnected. The lyric conveys a sense of being stuck in a rut and struggling to find a way out. The line "When finally awake, I'm out here on my own" suggests a lack of support from others in the singer's life. This feeling of isolation is reflected in the chorus "Shout out loud, you won't know, Shout out loud, it won't show, I'll never make a sound, But I'm way, way, way down." The singer is feeling unheard and unseen by others; they may be expressing themselves, but it's not being recognized by others.
The second verse "Take me to the moon, Where I can sleep 'til noon, Living my today, I don't care what you say" depicts a strong desire for escape and a lack of concern for criticism from others. There is a strong sense of individuality being asserted in the face of rejection from society. The final verse "Be careful of what we think we know, Black rivers turn to gold, Keep looking up To feel the glow" underscores the theme of the song by reminding listeners to be wary of assumptions and to seek out positivity in life. The song focuses on the singer's emotional experience, and how they navigate a difficult world.
