The band consists of vocalist Marcus Bischoff, guitarists Maik Weichert and Alexander Dietz, bassist Eric Bischoff and drummer Christian Bass. They are currently signed to Century Media. They have released nine studio albums, as well as a number of other records. One of their album, Veto, entered the German Album Charts at #2 in 2013.
Heaven Shall Burn's musical style has been described as metalcore, melodic death metal, and deathcore. Their lyrics express strong support for anti-racism and anti-fascism, as well as political resistance and animal rights. All members are vegans or vegetarians and most follow a straight edge philosophy.

I remember when I was about 15 years old back in 2005 when I first heard Heaven Shall Burn. The moments where Olafur Arnalds string and piano compositions played I remembered something awaken inside of me. It was the first time in my life that music pulled at something deep inside of me. It was the first time I was able to actually FEEL something through music... not just hear it...but rather listen. I remember the adrenaline rush during the HSB song, and then the quieting moment that would make me close my eyes and experience the feeling of calmness, sadness, and peace once Olafur came in. These were moments I will never forget. They were pivotal in my listening experience with music. These moments meant so much to me. Thank you so much for making this compilation.

Metal has a very strong connection to classical music, and gets a lot of inspiration of it. But a real listener of music, is able to like or respect other genres than their main genre. And you own this skill, because you can listen to other tracks than "hardcore" and also love that.

Never heard anything more beautiful than that.for some it might be depressing but everytime I hear this, it puts a smile on my face. I get so much positive energy out of that. And besides, it's an excellent thing to kinda chill out between certain HSB songs and let the songs really put an effect on you; especially the Antigone album. The tracks 6, 7 and 8, which would be "Numbing The Pain", "To Harvest The Storm" and the Risandi Von outro... actually, I think this is what keeps me sane sometimes
