Continuities of time and space are disrupted in a heart beat by the weight of a Higher Than Pope composition. One second you are late 60's retro and then next avant-garde progressive rock. There appears to be a genre warp as the HTP black hole collapses genre after genre, with none appear to escape unscathed.

I'll begin this discussion, who forced the Irish people to eat potatoes? Who took the meat, fish and other vegetables under armed guard and took it to England? Fact of the matter is, Sinead has literally fuck all to do with the famine. @@christophert9613 You might read some Irish history. The land system set up by the British government forced people to grow potatoes- potatoes grow where most other crops won't. As children grew up, the land was divided and subdivided so that there was not enough space to grow anything else. So yes, they were forced to eat potatoes. Further, other crops had to be used to pay rent to absentee landlords or else they were exported. The blight struck other countries but the way it was dealt with separated them from Ireland. Other countries stopped exporting food. Moreover, attacking Sinead O'Connor is only a logical fallacy that you are using because you are obviously not confident in your knowledge.

And all that would have to be done for potato blight to destroy the potato crops of an entire decently large region would be for a few litres of soil to be taken from the island of Newfoundland, Canada to be dumped onto the earth of another region. It's illegal to bring soil or houseplants outside of the island for this reason. It could have been done accidentally or done deliberately, either option is entirely plausible. Potato blight can spread wide quite rapidly quite easily when Newfoundland soil is introduced to a region outside of Newfoundland.

OMG, I’ve never seen this video before, but it’s filmed a few minutes from my house! This is the end of Park St in Borough Market. It was also used in Lock Stock and The Krays. There used to be a real Banksy on the right, a small one. An ape saying ‘laugh now but one day we’ll be in charge’ on it.

we discussed this song in English class when i was in high school. but i was in high school so long ago that this video didn't exist (this polished music video), so we watched an old live recording of it, and i listened to it a lot afterwards on my own time (the live recording). it's so jarring to hear the polished version, when i have this old probably 240p video recording in my head. amazing work either way. RIP

Yes, empires do this to the peoples of the lands they invade and occupy worldwide. I live in Canada and what this colony has done to the peoples of the land this colony invaded and occupies is appauling. Mass graves of children have been unearthed at Canada's First Nations' residential schools, just as there were in Tuam, Ireland at one of Ireland's mother and baby homes. And both Canada's residential schools and Ireland's mother and baby homes only closed in around the 1970s. Lots of survivors are still alive

I'm Korean and I'd like to say that we've got similar history. Japan occupied Korea since 1910 until 1945, for 36 years. We were deprived of lots of things-human rights, of course, ethnic identity, and FOOD. Japan's Oriental Development company, established by colonists motivated by Britain's East India Company, confiscated the land from Koreans and distributed to Japanese.
So I heard that lots of Irish people showed sympathy to Korea.

It is so interesting how the message of this song reaches so many people. I am from Finland and in 2nd WW Russia attacked Finland and occuppied part of our land leaving more than 400 000 people without home. Those war traumas have caused lots of anxiety in the Finnish people and only lately we have been starting to get over all of what happened then. I have an Irish friend with whom we have been able to share our experiences and it is obvious how such things leave wounds which take several generations to heal. Peace and love to everyone!!
