The Reason Why
Hillsong Worship Lyrics

The hope of a million tomorrows be found in your heart tonight
May the angels who sang glory be always at your side
May you find in Christ the Saviour, the reason why
Glory, glory
Angels singing joy and peace
Glory, glory
May the star shine bright this evening to show you where He laid
And if the road is long, and you're tempted to give the search away
Know the King has also travelled from the palace fair, on high
May you find in Christ the Saviour the reason why
Glory, glory
Angels singing joy and peace
Glory, glory
Christ has come to set the wise men free
Glory, glory
Angels singing joy and peace
Glory, glory
Christ has come to set the people free
The lyrics to Hillsong Worship's song The Reason Why describe the beauty and wonder of the birth of Jesus Christ. The verse speaks of the peacefulness of a sleeping baby and the joy in a new mother's eyes, which shows the hope for many tomorrows. The reference to the angels singing "glory" signifies the momentous occasion of the nativity of Jesus. The song expresses the desire for those who hear it to always find hope in Christ, and to find in Him the reason why they believe and have faith.
The chorus of the song repeatedly emphasizes that Christ has come to set people free, just as He set the shepherds and wise men free. The star that shone brightly on the night of Jesus' birth is mentioned, guiding people to where the baby was laid. The song encourages those who may be feeling weary or tempted to give up to keep searching, as the King of kings, who came from a palace on high, has also travelled far to bring hope to humanity.
Overall, the lyrics serve as a reminder of the humility and grace of Christ's birth and the impact it has had on the world. It speaks of the hope and freedom that comes from believing in Jesus, and encourages listeners to find their reason to believe in Him.
