They had a run of hit singles during the 1980s and early 1990s, scoring a total of 19 top-ten singles across the US Billboard Hot 100, Adult Contemporary and Mainstream Rock charts. Their greatest success was with their number-one album, 'Sports'. Their worldwide fame expanded when their recording of "The Power of Love" was featured as a key track in the 1985 movie "Back to the Future" (in which Huey Lewis made a cameo appearance). The song became a number-one hit, and it was nominated for an Academy Award.
From a first single in 1979, the group successfully combined a pop rock and power pop (and sometimes, a blues rock) influenced backing with harmony side-vocals and Lewis' strident voice, and the band had numerous hit songs during the 1980s and early 1990s. These include "The Power of Love" and "Back in Time" (both of which were featured in the film "Back to the Future"), "I Want a New Drug", "Doin' It All (For My Baby)", "Do You Believe in Love?" "Hip to Be Square", "Stuck With You", and "Jacob's Ladder". Huey Lewis shared three Grammy awards, an American Music Award, and a People's Choice Award along with several artists for his role singing the 1985 charity song "We Are the World" as well.

Doing It All
Huey Lewis & The News Lyrics
Early in the morning, I'm still in bed
She comes to me with sweet affection
Wakes me with kisses, hello sleepyhead
Gets me moving in the right direction
I do my best to give her love that lasts forever
It seems like everything I do I'm doing better
Doing it all for my baby
Because she's as fine as she can be
I'm doing it all for my baby
For everything she does for me
Later in the evening, it's been a busy day
She lays her head upon my weary shoulder
Listen to her laughing, snuggle up and say
Now I'm with you baby, the loneliness is over
I do my best to give her love that lasts forever
It seems like everything I do I'm doing better
Doing it all for my baby
'Cause she's as fine as she can be
Doing it all for my baby
For everything she does for me
Doing it all for my baby
Because she's as fine as she can be
I'm doing it all for my baby
For everything she does for me
Doing it, doing it
Doing it, doing it, doing it, yeah
Doing it, doing it
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Doing it, doing it, doing it
Doing it, doing it, doing it, yeah
Doing it, doing it, doing it, doing it
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Doing it all for my baby
Doing it all for my baby
Doing it all for my baby
She's as fine as she can be
Doing it all for my baby
Doing it all for my baby
She's so fine
She comes to me with sweet affection
Wakes me with kisses, hello sleepyhead
Gets me moving in the right direction
I do my best to give her love that lasts forever
It seems like everything I do I'm doing better
Doing it all for my baby

I don’t know if people realize how lucky we really were to grow up with this music. The whole band is just phenomenal.

All his life, my Dad was a big fan of this video - it was the first video we laughed together in the 80s when he gave me a bit of his music taste. RIP Dad, I miss you so much ❤️

This video has incredible meaning. Esp that its from the masculine prospective.. I’m femme and have gotten out of a lot of abusive relationships. So seeing her be afraid of him as soon as he transforms into a human man, that hurt me personally lol.
