Ira! was formed in 1981, by Nasi, Scandurra, Fábio Scattone (drums) and Adilson Fajardo (bass). But its final formation was only reached in 1985, when Ricardo Gaspa and André Jung (former member of fellow brazilian band Titãs) joined the band.
Their songs were strongly influenced by the Mod sound of The Who, the hard rock of Led Zeppelin and the punk rock of The Clash.
After making it big in the 80s, Ira! faded away in the 90s, regained some popularity in the 00s and eventually split in 2007, making it's comeback only in 2014, with a new formation that stays to this day: Nasi, Edgard Scandurra, Evaristo Pádua, and Johnny Boy
Naftalina
Ira! Lyrics

Gosto também de naftalina
Gosto do gosto da sua boca
Do seu cigarro
A qualquer hora esse seu beijo
Ao meio dia , o sol rachando
E todo dia um dia inteiro
E de corpo inteiro e todo dia
Esse seu cheiro de cigarro
Esse seu gosto de bebida
The lyrics of Ira!'s song Naftalina is about a person who is fascinated with certain smells and tastes. The singer sings about their love for gasoline and mothballs, two seemingly different scents. They also express their fondness for the taste of their lover's mouth and cigarette. The lyrics suggest a certain level of addiction, with the singer wanting their lover's kiss at any time of day, even in the scorching heat of the day. The lyrics also hint at a sense of timelessness, with the singer wanting to spend every day and moment with their lover, intoxicated by their smells and tastes.
