The song Mille après mille by Isabelle Boulay is about the journey of life and searching for one's destiny. The lyrics express a sense of uncertainty and lack of direction that the singer feels in her life. She is always on the move, traveling through different cities and neighborhoods to find her purpose in life. However, despite her endless travels, she still feels empty and unsatisfied with her achievements. She is haunted by the memories of a past love, who she left behind and wonders why she made that decision.
The lyrics further reveal that the singer's search is not just for physical destinations, but also for inner peace and fulfillment. She acknowledges that her travels are endless and seemingly futile but hopes that one day, she will find the peace she craves. The final verse suggests that when this happens, she will finally be able to stop running and look back at her journey with a sense of contentment.
Overall, Mille après mille is a poignant, reflective song that speaks to the universal human experience of searching for meaning and purpose in life.
