Izïa was born in Paris on 24 September 1990. She is the daughter of Jacques Higelin, a famous French singer-songwriter, and Aziza Zakine, a dancer and chorus girl of Tunisian descent. By then she had already written her first song, "Hey Bitch", which was included years later on her first album.
A year later he met bassist Antoine Toustou and gave his first live performance in 2004. Six months later she managed to consolidate a more stable line-up. She dropped out of school at the age of fifteen to develop her musical career to the full.
In 2006, Izïa released her first EP and the following year she was already sharing the stage with Iggy & the Stooges at the Printemps de Bourges music festival. She then embarked on a tour of France, performing on nearly thirty stages. On 8 June 2009, his eponymous debut album was released in his home country. Je vois le rayon vert maintenant
Et l'horizon me tient tête
In Izïa's song "Sunset," the lyrics describe the end of a day and the singer's feelings of melancholy as the sun sets over the ocean. The first stanza describes the beauty of the sunset and the singer's desire to capture it, but acknowledges that night will soon take over. The second stanza compares the sunset to a sleeping sword, and the singer reflects on how things will never be the same after this moment has passed. The third stanza references stars and comets and describes the peacefulness of the moment, but also acknowledges the impermanence of love, which comes and goes like the wind. The final stanza speaks to the inevitability of the new day and the rising sun, but the singer can't help but feel like they're clinging to the memories of the past.
The song captures the fleeting nature of life and love, emphasizing the importance of cherishing and being present in each moment. The " sunset " is a metaphor for the fleeting nature of time and the importance of enjoying life while it lasts. The singer's feelings of longing and sadness are also palpable, as they mourn the loss of what they once had. Overall, the song is a meditation on the impermanence of life, and a reminder to appreciate the beauty around us while it lasts.
