The Claw
Jack Stauber Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It′s not your light
It's the kitchen sink full of dishes
You′ve got trouble coming your way

Say hello to fear, and pain, and worry
They won't leave your side

Today!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Jack Stauber's song The Claw paint a dark picture of someone going through a rough time. The opening line, "It's not your light," suggests that there is a darkness looming over the subject of the song. The next line, "It's the kitchen sink full of dishes," is a metaphor for the heavy burden or responsibilities that the subject is carrying. This could be interpreted as representing the struggles and hardships of everyday life that weigh us down.

The following lines, "You've got trouble coming your way, Say hello to fear, and pain, and worry," further highlight the difficulties that the subject is facing. The personification of fear, pain, and worry suggests that they are more than just abstract concepts - they are tangible, almost physical entities that are constantly present. The final line, "They won't leave your side, today!" suggests that this is an ongoing battle that the subject is facing.

Overall, the lyrics of The Claw are quite bleak, but they also offer a sense of empathy for those struggling with difficult circumstances. The metaphor of the full kitchen sink is particularly powerful as it's a relatable and mundane task that can become overwhelming when we're already dealing with other challenges in our lives.

the song title Buttercup I think conveys the same meaning as the song "Build me up buttercup" A guy trying to work things out in relationship but to find himself being let down and disappointed, but since he cannot leave her little poison, "fine, electrify mine, electrify my golden tooth (maybe stands for something precious, i.e.: self, life). his way of taking on the challenge.

When he said forget it I will do it sometime he meant that he will try to talk to a female he likes. When he said Im locked up on the button he was to scared to talk to her and he freezes and cant you do it sometime he meant instead of going up and talking to the girl he wants the girl to talk to him. and pushed it in to far he meant that he tried his hardest to talk to her.
