Over the next ten years, Jackopierce toured the world (3 continents, 10 countries, 44 US states) selling out venues everywhere they went. They shared stages with Dave Matthews Band, matchbox twenty, Counting Crows, The Wallflowers, Vertical Horizon, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Lyle Lovett, No Doubt, Collective Soul, Train, Semisonic and many others. During that time, they sold over 400,000 records (four independent albums and two on A&M Records).
Jackopierce ended their decade-long run in 1998 with a sold-out farewell tour and the release of Decade, a retrospective double-CD featuring many fan favorites as well as new and live material. As of 2001, Jackopierce resumed playing at small venues around the country, and a new CD is reportedly in the mix for late 2007. Tour dates and locations can be found on the band's homepage.
Witch In The Old Man
Jackopierce Lyrics

I could stay on my boat forever
Spinning tales with my two young friends
Living and learning off of the river
They say the current flows with a mighty grip
But below the surface she watches
The witch in the old man will take you into her depths
Mama says there's a witch down in the river
She has no friends to speak of
And she is always trying to steal a few from the old man
The old Miss man
The old man as he flows down south to the Gulf of Mexico
In Jackopierce's song "Witch in the Old Man," the singer reflects on his days spent on a boat with his two young friends. They fish, tell stories, and learn from the river that flows beneath them. However, there is a dark undercurrent to this idyllic scene. The "witch in the old man" is a powerful force lurking beneath the river's surface, one that can "take you into her depths." Despite warnings from the singer's mother, many people are drawn to seek refuge from the heat in the river's cool waters. The witch, it seems, is always on the lookout for someone to ensnare.
