The band made their debut under Acid Jazz Records but subsequently found mainstream success under Sony. While under this label, three of their albums have charted at number one in the UK, including Emergency on Planet Earth (1993), Synkronized (1999) and A Funk Odyssey (2001). The band's 1998 single, "Deeper Underground", was also number one in their native country.
As of 2017, Jamiroquai had sold more than 26 million albums worldwide. Their third album, Travelling Without Moving (1996), received a Guinness World Record as the best-selling funk album in history. The music video for its lead single, "Virtual Insanity", also contributed to the band's success. The song was named Video of the Year at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards and earned the band a Grammy Award in 1998.

All Good in the Hood

I'm down baby
I've got my reasons
but you're cherry picking love grenades
Throwing them at me again
Don't let me see you with a sad face
Don't wanna see ya
That's the way it's always been
All good
In the hood tonight
Did I forget to mention
A little bit of tension makes the world alright
(makes the world alright)
And there's some pain
You can't do without
That's the pain you're tasting
When you started walkin' out
Ooh mercy mercy
It's a hard game
When love is war
And war will never be the answer
I feel that rage again
This is the storm
You love to ride on
Your face s thunder
Tears are falling down like rain
On my window pane
(Keep on sayin' it)
All good (all good in the hood tonight)
In the hood tonight (all good in the hood tonight)
Did I forget to mention
A little bit of tension makes the world alright
And there's some pain
You can't do without
That's the pain you're tasting
When you started walkin' out
Walkin' out on me yeh, walkin' out
walkin' out on me yeh, walkin' out
walkin' out on me yeh, walkin' out
All good (all good in the hood tonight)
In the hood tonight (it's good in the hood tonight)
Did I forget to mention
A little bit of tension makes the world alright
And there's some pain
You can't do without
That's the pain you're tasting
When you started walkin' out
walkin' out on me yeh, walkin' out
walkin' out on me yeh, walkin' out
walkin' out on me yeh, walkin' out
The song "All Good in the Hood" by Jamiroquai is a catchy tune that deals with the ups and downs of love. The first verse talks about the singer feeling down and vulnerable, and his partner taking advantage of that vulnerability by throwing "love grenades." This could symbolize the partner saying things to hurt him or picking fights unnecessarily. The second verse warns the partner not to destroy all the good things they have by being sad and negative, and to not let their disagreements escalate to the point of destroying their dreams.
The chorus, "All good in the hood tonight" is a hopeful statement, suggesting that even though things may be tough right now, they will be okay in the end. The line, "Did I forget to mention a little bit of tension makes the world alright" is the key to understanding the song. While conflict may be uncomfortable, it can actually help improve relationships by forcing people to address underlying issues and work through them. The pain of walking away from a relationship may be hard to bear, but it can also bring about growth and renewed understanding of oneself.
Overall, "All Good in the Hood" is a positive message about the importance of facing challenges in life and love head-on, rather than avoiding them or giving up too easily.
