Dock of the Bay
Jason Manns Lyrics

I'll be sittin' when the evening comes
Watching the ships roll in
Then I watch them roll away again, yeah
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the Frisco Bay
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothing's gonna come my way
So, I'm just gon' sit on the dock of the bay
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
Looks like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, listen
Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone, listen
Two thousand miles I roam
Just to make this dock my home, now
I'm just gon' sit at the dock of a bay
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
Sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
Sittin' in the morning sun
Enjoying the peacefulness and warmth of the early morning sunlight
I'll be sittin' when the evening comes
Choosing to remain in the same place even as the day transitions into night
Watching the ships roll in
Observing the arrival of ships at the dock
Then I watch them roll away again, yeah
Witnessing the departure of the ships from the dock
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Occupying a spot on the bay's dock
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
Observing the movement of the water as the tide recedes
I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Simply remaining seated on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
Passing time without purpose
I left my home in Georgia
I departed from my residence in Georgia
Headed for the Frisco Bay
Making my way towards the bay in San Francisco
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
As I have lost all motivation or purpose in life
And look like nothing's gonna come my way
It appears that nothing positive or fortunate will come into my life
So, I'm just gon' sit on the dock of the bay
As a result, I will simply continue sitting on the bay's dock
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
Observing the receding tide as it moves away
Looks like nothing's gonna change
It seems that nothing will alter or improve
Everything still remains the same
All aspects of life continue to stay unchanged
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
I am unable to comply with the instructions or demands of others
So I guess I'll remain the same, listen
Therefore, I suppose I will remain unaltered and steadfast
Sittin' here resting my bones
Sitting at this spot to relax and give my body a rest
And this loneliness won't leave me alone, listen
However, this feeling of being alone persists and does not go away
Two thousand miles I roam
Having traveled a great distance of two thousand miles
Just to make this dock my home, now
Merely to establish this dock as my place of residence
I'm just gon' sit at the dock of a bay
I will simply continue sitting at the bay's dock
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
Observing the movement of the water as the tide recedes
Sittin' on the dock of the bay
Remaining seated at the bay's dock
Wastin' time
Passing time without purpose

on Without You
hey just though you should know that you missed a line between "People say that I should just let you go" and "And I thought that you should know" where it says "but i won't cause i can't"
