Let's See What the Night Can Do
Jason Mraz Lyrics

To dance in the dust of our headlights
And score some good seats for the sunrise
And get dressed up in clothes we don't mind getting messed up
When no one will know how to get us
We don't need the map, we'll just drive, drive, drive
I wanna get lost with you
I wanna get lost with you
And see what it's like to spend the whole night
With you, just you
You, just you
We can head North over the oceans of turquoise
Where after a while there'll be no noise
Set for the sound of our heartbeats beating on
And we'll stand in the Canyon alone
Singing our favorite songs
And wait for the words to return in the echo, echo, echo, echo, echo
I wanna get lost with you
And hideout out under the light of the moon
I wanna get lost with you
And see what it's like to spend the whole night
With you, just you
With you, just you
With you, just you
With you, just you
'Cause I wanna get lost
Let's see what the night can do
Let's see what the night can do
Let's see what the night can do
I wanna get lost
Let's see what the night can do
Let's see what the night can do
Let's see what the night can do
I wanna get lost
Let's see what the night can do
Let's see what the night can do
Let's see what the night can do
I wanna get lost (I wanna get lost)
Let's see what the night can do (I wanna get lost with you)
Let's see what our hearts wanna do
I wanna know what it's like to spend the whole night
With you, just you
With you, just you
With you, just you
The lyrics of Jason Mraz's "Let's See What the Night Can Do" depict a sense of adventure, freedom, and exploring the unknown with someone he loves. Mraz suggests driving out to the desert, dancing in the dust of their headlights, and getting lost with the person, just them, and the moonlight. These lyrics paint a beautiful imagery of the two lovers exploring the world together, without any specific plan or route. The lyric "We don't need the map, we'll just drive, drive, drive" emphasizes the spontaneous adventure and excitement they feel where they don't need to plan anything and just let the universe guide them.
The second verse continues the theme of exploration where Mraz suggests they can go north, and head over the turquoise blue ocean. They can stand alone in the Canyon singing their favorite songs, waiting for the words to return in an echo. The lines, "Singing our favorite songs, And wait for the words to return in the echo, echo, echo, echo, echo" depict a beautiful image of the two lovers singing their hearts out, and the canyon echoes back, intensifying their connection.
Overall, these lyrics portray a sense of freedom, exploration, spontaneity, and love. They remind us of the simplicity and beauty of life that can be discovered by getting lost and letting the night guide us.

This song doesn't actually make me think romantically. It makes me think about my 3 close friends, and the amazing memories we've created over the years and the laughs we've shared. And it makes me joyful about the good times to come. They are the back bone of my life 💟
