His first album featured a recording of the Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends", which brought him to near-instant stardom. The song reached number one in the UK in 1968, became a staple of his many live shows (Woodstock and the Isle of Wight in 1969, the Party at the Palace in 2002) and was also known as the theme song for the late 1980s American TV series The Wonder Years. He continued his success with his second album, which included a second Beatles song: "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window". A hastily thrown together 1970 US tour led to the live double-album Mad Dogs & Englishmen, which featured an all-star band organized by Leon Russell. His 1974 recording of "You Are So Beautiful" reached number five in the US, and became his signature song. Cocker's best selling song was the US number one "Up Where We Belong", a duet with Jennifer Warnes that earned a 1983 Grammy Award. He released a total of 22 studio albums over a 43-year recording career.
In 1993, Cocker was nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Male. He was awarded a bronze Sheffield Legends plaque in his hometown in 2007, and received an OBE the following year for services to music. Cocker was ranked number 97 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers list.

Could You Be Loved
Joe Cocker Lyrics

Could You Be Loved And Be Loved
Could You Be Loved And Be Loved
Don't Let Them Fool You
Or Even Try To School You...Oh No
We've Got A Mind Of Our Own
So Go To Hell If What You're Thinking Is Not Right
Love Would Never Leave Us Alone
In The Darkness There Must Come Out To Light
Could You Be Loved And Be Loved
Could You Be Loved And Be Loved
The Road Of Life Is Rocky
And You May Stumble Too
So While You Point Your Fingers
Someone Else Is Judging You
Love Your Brother Man
Could You Be.... Could You Be...Could You Be Loved
Could You Be.... Could You Be Loved
Don't Let Them Change You
Or Even Rearrange You ..Oh No
We've Got A Live To Live
They Say Only Only Only
The Fittest Of The Fittest Shall Survive
Stay Alive
Could You Be Loved And Be Loved
Could You Be Loved And Be Loved
Ain't Gonna Miss Your Water
Until Your Well Runs Dry
No Matter How You Treat Him The Man Will Never Be Satisfied
Could You Be.... Could You Be...Could You Be Loved
Could You Be.... Could You Be Loved
Could You Be.... Could You Be...Could You Be Loved
Could You Be.... Could You Be Loved
Say Something, Say Something
Could You Be.... Could You Be...Could You Be Loved
Could You Be.... Could You Be Loved
Could You Be.... Could You Be...Could You Be Loved
Could You Be.... Could You Be Loved
The song "Could You Be Loved" by Joe Cocker is a song about love, acceptance, and individuality. The opening lines suggest a call to action- a plea to speak out and say something. The lyrics go on to ask if one had ever been loved and if one could also love. The song aims to empower people and acknowledge their independence of thought and the ability to make their own decisions despite what society thinks. The lines, "Don't let them fool you, or even try to school you", suggest that people should not blindly follow society's expectations but rather take a stance, paving the road to their own happiness.
The lyrics point out that we all stumble in our journey of life, and therefore no one should be judged for their actions or beliefs. The lines, "so while you point your fingers, someone else is judging you. Love your brother man," ask individuals to be non-judgmental, accept one another, and love one another. Additionally, Joe Cocker reminds the listeners, "Don't let them change you or even rearrange you." It's an acknowledgment that society may have its expectations and that one should remain true to oneself.

I will repeat this on and on and on. Joe Cocker`s sense of music is something totally authentic, creative and sensitive. In the song at stake i ask everyone in this channel: how can a singer add so much power, energy and beauty to a song that was already one little masterpiece in this original version launched by another genious, by the way. Mr Bob Dylan. Mabe something misterious shared between Bob, Joe and God.
