His first album featured a recording of the Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends", which brought him to near-instant stardom. The song reached number one in the UK in 1968, became a staple of his many live shows (Woodstock and the Isle of Wight in 1969, the Party at the Palace in 2002) and was also known as the theme song for the late 1980s American TV series The Wonder Years. He continued his success with his second album, which included a second Beatles song: "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window". A hastily thrown together 1970 US tour led to the live double-album Mad Dogs & Englishmen, which featured an all-star band organized by Leon Russell. His 1974 recording of "You Are So Beautiful" reached number five in the US, and became his signature song. Cocker's best selling song was the US number one "Up Where We Belong", a duet with Jennifer Warnes that earned a 1983 Grammy Award. He released a total of 22 studio albums over a 43-year recording career.
In 1993, Cocker was nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Male. He was awarded a bronze Sheffield Legends plaque in his hometown in 2007, and received an OBE the following year for services to music. Cocker was ranked number 97 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers list.

I thought I'd see you smile
When I walked in the door
Thought those arms of yours would be open wide
The way they were before
Why do you look at me
Like I'm some stranger now
Why do you pull away
Don't you love me anymore
Have your learned to live your life without me
Don't you love me, anymore
When did the fire go out
Where did the feeling go
Did it slip away when I wasn't there
Baby now I've come home
I thought you'd want me babe
I was so sure you'd ask me to to stay
I thought you'd need this too
Guess it didn't work out that way
Don't you love me anymore
Have you learned to live your life without me
Don't you love me anymore
Darling
When did the fire go out
Where did the feeling go
Why do you pull away
When you used to hold me so close baby
Don't you love me anymore
Have your learned to live your life without me
Don't you love me anymore
Don't you love me anymore
Have your learned to live your life without me
The song "Don't You Love Me Anymore" by Joe Cocker tells the story of a man who returns home to his lover, expecting to be welcomed back with open arms, but instead is met with distance and indifference. The lyrics express the confusion and hurt the man feels when he realizes that his lover no longer loves him. He doesn't understand why she's pulling away from him when she used to hold him so close. He's left wondering if she's learned to live her life without him and if the fire in their relationship has gone out.
The song captures the universal experience of heartbreak and the pain of losing someone you love. The emotive lyrics are coupled with Cocker's soulful voice and the powerful instrumentation, making it a classic ballad. The song's melancholy melody and raw emotion showcase Cocker's prowess as a singer and his ability to convey love and heartbreak through music.

This is one of the most soulful renditions of this wonderful song. I came to the site to listen to Rose Royce's version,
and I like both version so very much.
