Monday
Joell Ortiz Lyrics

Lemme tell y'all a little somethin' about Monday
Monday is that day that you lined up on the startin' line
Like a track star waitin' for that gun to go off
Waitin' on that pop
Monday is for the hustlers
It's for the go-getters
For those who work the hardest
Shit gets done on a Monday
You can get yours on any day of the week
But Monday's the day to shine
The early bird catches the worm, baby
The early bird catches the worm (worm)
In this set of lyrics, Joell Ortiz is giving an insightful commentary on the significance of Mondays. He starts off by acknowledging Monday as the day when individuals line up at the starting line, similar to track stars eagerly waiting for the race to start. This metaphor represents the anticipation and motivation people have at the beginning of the week to accomplish their goals.
He then goes on to say that Monday is a day for the hustlers, the go-getters, and those who work the hardest. It is a day dedicated to taking charge and relentlessly pursuing success. He implies that if you are familiar with this mindset, you understand that Mondays are the catalyst for productivity and results.
Joell Ortiz emphasizes that while it is possible to achieve success on any given day of the week, Monday holds a unique significance. He encourages listeners to seize the opportunity Mondays present and excel. Referencing the saying "The early bird catches the worm," he highlights the importance of starting early and being proactive to achieve success.
Overall, Joell Ortiz's lyrics convey the message that Mondays symbolize a day of productivity, motivation, and the chance to shine. It serves as a reminder for hustlers and go-getters to take advantage of this day to accomplish their goals and set a strong tone for the rest of the week.

Everytime I listen to joell I feel like I'm walking through lower east side projects with the Puerto ricans playing dominos in the middle of the sidewalk

Joell had a freestyle on flex around 2008. He had a bar where he said โthe scariest part is I ainโt done evolvingโ! Almost 15years later this man has been nothing but original, consistent, creative and has yet to show any slipping in that pen of his and continues to evolve! From a true hip hop fan from Spanish Harlem I sincerely say thank you for all your dedication in one of my favorite genres of music! I can honestly say I feel like I grew with his music.
