For over sixty years this has been one of my favorite compositions. Well played everyone.

George King

You did Cambridge O level Music in the early 60s too? :)

This is why I’m so obsessed with Brahms, this piece is probably one of my favorites by him right behind tragic overture.

"Gaudeamus Igitur" is a tune that brings pleasant memories for many of us of our university days when we were young! Well played too by the Orchestra of Paris, some of whom had smiles on their faces when they finished! So did I!

A most 'happy' piece of music by Brahms, conducted expertly as usual by Paavo Järvi - who always seems to get the best out of both orchestras, and choirs/vocalists. Most enjoyable, thank you very much. Also brings back many memories of 'musical' friends past, and one great music teacher who introduced me to such fine works when I was a teenager at school, thereby giving me a gift for life. For me, it is 'a piece to go out on'.

It's always a joy to play Brahms - he wrote great fiddle parts.

I’ve always found 0:50 to be so beautiful. The horns and bassoons together sound incredible.

Brahms has been my favorite composer for decades. Never a wasted note; everything is there for a reason. He was an extraordinary craftsman. I've had the pleasure of performing most of his orchestral music, including concerti, in various orchestras, and I never, ever get tired of playing (or hearing) any of it.
