He recorded and performed primarily with an acoustic guitar and sang about his joy in nature, his disdain for city life, his enthusiasm for music, and his relationship trials. Denver's music appeared on a variety of charts, including country music, the Billboard Hot 100, and adult contemporary, in all earning him twelve gold and four platinum albums with his signature songs "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Annie's Song", "Rocky Mountain High", "Thank God I'm a Country Boy", and "Sunshine on My Shoulders".
Denver starred in films and several notable television specials in the 1970s and 1980s. He continued to record in the 1990s, also focusing on environmental issues by lending vocal support to space exploration and testifying in front of Congress in protest against censorship in music. He lived in Aspen, Colorado for much of his life and was known for his love of Colorado which he sang about numerous times. In 1974 Denver was named poet laureate of the state. The Colorado state legislature also adopted "Rocky Mountain High" as one of its two state songs in 2007. Denver was an avid pilot and died at the age of 53 in a single-fatality crash of his personal experimental aircraft.

I would like to sit and talk, to see if we could find
The answer to the mystery of love's most precious seed
Is it in a touch or in a kiss or simply in the need
Or is it really love itself that always wants to give
The heart and soul of all of us and everything that lives
To think that life could be so sweet and love could be so strong
As to gather everyone of us, like one big family
To share with one another all we have and all we see
It's true the deepest part of us is everywhere the same
And that the only differences are really just the names
We can join the children's song and show them that we care
Let them know we're on their side, no matter when or where
We can free their hearts from fear and hunger reconcile
We can give a child a chance and give a child a smile
True love is still the answer, and we are still the way
The gift is in the giving, and in living what we say
And if you have a lonely heart, this song is just for you
To ask for all that you can give and all that you can do
Remember that the mystery of love's most precious seed
Is in the heart of all of us, true love is all we need
It's in the heart of all of us, true love is all we need
Within the heart of all of us, true love is all we need
Within the heart of all of us, true love is all we need
Within the heart of all of us, true love is all we need
Within the heart of all of us, true love is all we need
Within the heart of all of us, true love is all we need
In John Denver's song Hey There, he addresses Mr. Lonely Heart and Mr. Cold, Cold Heart in an attempt to discuss the mystery of love's most precious seed. He wonders if love is found in a touch or a kiss, or if it is simply a need that we all possess. He suggests that it is really love itself that gives us the desire to give our hearts and souls along with everything around us. He points out that the deepest part of us is the same and that differences only exist in names.
Denver believes that love is strong enough to bring us all together like one big family, where we can share everything we have and see. He suggests that by joining in with childrenβs songs and showing them we care, we can let them know that we are always on their side. He believes that we can help children gain courage, conquer their fears, and even their hunger with true love. True love is still the answer, he says, and all we need is to give ourselves and live what we say.
The overall theme of the song is a mystery of love, and Denver tries to answer this mystery, which is still unsolved. Love is eternal, and this song is a tribute to those who have a lonely heart that is waiting to be filled with love.

J Parker
SonicHits just gets worse and worse. Albums that don't play, songs that don't play, tracks that are NOT the named song or even the right artist, adverts that cover content and cause the site to interrupt and buffer inthe middle of songs. I've got to find a better music site!
