Give Love A Try
Jonas Brothers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You're like driving on a Sunday
You
You're like taking off on Monday
You're like a dream
Dream come true
I
I
Just trying to be honest with myself
With you
With the world
You might think
That I'm a fool for falling over you
So tell me what can I do
To prove to you
That's it not so hard to do
Give love a try
One more time
'Cause you know that I'm on your side
Give love a try
One more time
Yeah, yeah
Ooh
The Jonas Brothers' song "Give Love a Try" is a track that speaks to the timeless experience of falling in love. The lyrics describe the feeling of meeting someone who makes your mundane days feel like a beautiful Sunday drive and inspires you to take off on adventures like a Monday. The singer notes that this person is like a dream come true, creating a sense that their love is a fantasy that they never thought possible.
Throughout the verses, the singer acknowledges that they may not be the most noticeable or significant person in this special someone's eyes, but they are honest and true to themselves. They want to be with this person and show them that they are worth loving, no matter how foolish it may seem. The chorus then begs the question of what the singer can do to prove their love, insisting that giving love a try one more time is what they need.
In conclusion, "Give Love a Try" is a song that speaks to the vulnerability and desire to be loved by that one special person. It is a plea for the person being sung to, to give love a chance and to understand that love is not an easy thing, but it is worth trying.
