Capmany is widely recognised as the most important rock musician and a cornerstone in Costa Rican rock development. Many musicians have said they found him a source of inspiration, and most of his songs have been sung by other people as a form of tribute.
Sony Music edited a last album with Capmany's music after his death. "Volando alto/La historia salvaje" is a doble disc, one with his old hits and other with unreleased songs that were completed by his bandmates.

Puede que los más jóvenes no sepan aún quien fue y que los mayores no entiendan lo que representó, sin embargo para muchos de nosotros que hoy rondamos entre 30 y 40, Capmany fue un referente, una figura especial, por lo que hizo y por quien fue, un artista, un hombre cabal, con los pies en el suelo y la mirada hacia el cielo, quien de nosotros no quiso ser un poco como él y aun hoy sus canciones nos llenan el día de alegría
