Almost Like Being In Love/This Can't Be Love
Judy Garland Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What a day this has been!
What a rare mood I'm in!
Why, it's almost like being in love

There's a smile on my face
For the whole human race
Why it's almost like being in love
All the music of life seems to be
Like a bell that is ringing for me
And from the way that I feel
When the bell starts to peal
I would swear I was falling

I could swear I was falling
It's almost like being in love

Absolutely wonderful. When Garland was in voice...she was simply magical.

It astonishes me the amount of people commenting on Judy being “jittery” or not on good form compared to whenever (you name it). She was under enormous pressure at this time professionally (having to prove herself to tv executives), financially (dealing with unscrupulous agents who embezzled her earnings) and emotionally (going through an acrimonious divorce and addiction) as well as being a mother to her children. Juggling all that puts demands on anyone's mental and physical health. But to then have to perform at optimum level, which was expected of her every time, requires superhuman powers. She just couldn’t do it. The armchair critics frustrate me because they tap away their inane comments totally oblivious to the human aspect of an artist: they always want more and better. She endured this level of scrutiny and persistent demands for perfection during her lifetime. Let’s savour her catalogue of work whilst admiring her sheer effort and willpower to achieve what she did despite her battles with depression, anxiety and addiction.

Love this medley. Judy dosent seem jittery just into the song. She never should have done a tv series 1 or 2 speciala a year

We Love You Judy! Looks like at 2:37 she swallowed real fast. Never saw her do that before. She is so missed! Instead of CBS cancelling her TV show, they should have aloud her to do "Specials" a few times during the years of just "Judy In Concert" and let her keep the monies they promised her. Why didn't other networks grabbed her after her show was cancelled and given her the do respect she was entitled too with a better time slot and different format for a TV show? She deserved to be treated better. She was JUDY GARLAND for goodness sake! I hope she knows how much she is loved, respected and missed by all! She is "The World's Greatest Entertainer"...Such a beautiful woman and beautiful soul!
