The song "Lost in the Forest" by Julien Bam depicts the story of Hansel and Gretel, two siblings who are lost in the forest. The lyrics describe their struggle of finding their way back home and the desperation they feel due to hunger and cold weather. In the first verse, we see the siblings struggling to find a way out of the forest as it is dark and cold. They have finished their food and have no idea which way to go. They resort to leaving breadcrumbs on the ground, just like in the fairy tale. However, they only have leftover Börek to lead their way, which they fear might not be enough.
The second verse shows both siblings struggling to find their way, with no luck at first. They try to use Google Maps, but Hansel has no service, and Gretel has no mobile data. Hansel suggests leaving breadcrumbs on the ground, and Gretel agrees but regrets doing so as they have only Börek to leave as a trail. They both smell food but have no cash to buy anything, so they resist the temptation. They hear someone calling their names and realize that someone is going to lead them back home. However, they are wrong and decide to go ahead and have a snack.
The final verse shows Hansel and Gretel's rescue from the forest as they find their way home. They are now safe from the forest, but they decide to go back and set fire to the witch's house. The song portrays the desperation and struggle of two siblings lost in the forest, trying hard to find their way home. It also highlights the importance of having a proper plan in times of crisis, as well as resisting temptations and distractions along the way.
