K-Ci and JoJo's first sign of independence came in 1994 when K-Ci covered Bobby Womack's hit "If You Think You're Lonely Now" for the movie Jason's Lyric. Early in 1996, K-Ci and Jo-Jo teamed up for the song "How Could You" for the movie Bulletproof starring Damon Wayans and Adam Sandler.
By July 1996, K-Ci and JoJo finally had a hit on their hands as guest artists in 2Pac's number-one R&B hit "How Do U Want It". It also topped the Billboard Hot 100. The brothers made their side projects into a full album, Love Always. Released on June 17, 1997, the album spawned two top-ten R&B hits: "You Bring Me Up" and "Last Night's Letter". "All My Life" was the number-one song on the Hot 100 for three weeks, a feat that K-Ci and Jo-Jo had never achieved with Jodeci.Love Always went on to sell four million copies, and the success of the album put Jodeci's reunion on hold indefinitely.
Their second album,It's Real, was released on June 22, 1999. It spawned one major hit "Tell Me It's Real" which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard's R&B charts. K-Ci and Jo-Jo returned with X on December 5, 2000. "X", the Roman numeral for ten, was picked as the album title to celebrate the Haileys' tenth anniversary in the music business. They made a strong return to the Billboard Hot 100 early in 2001 with the song "Crazy", also included on the Save the Last Dance soundtrack. "Crazy" peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
The fourth K-Ci and Jo-Jo album, Emotional, was released on November 26, 2002, but failed to find commercial success. K-Ci and JoJo released a greatest hits album on February 8, 2005. They are believed to have teamed back up with DeVante Swing and Mr. Dalvin for a Jodeci reunion album.
Somebody Please

That I wanna tell
Yeah, oh yeah
Somebody, I need some help
Let me tell you my story
Somebody please, gimme just a minute
To explain yeah, my, my misery
The girl that I loved
She walked out on me
And now I'm standing here mm
With just a memory
Somebody please, somebody please
Would you help me?
Somebody please, somebody please
Why won't you help me
Listen! Now wait just minute
You got to tell me why
Tell me why
Without my baby I think that I'm gonna die
The girl that I loved
She walked out on me
And now I am standing here
With my heart in misery
Somebody please, somebody please
Would you help me?
Somebody please, somebody please
Why won't you help me
Somebody please, somebody please
Would you help me?
Somebody please, somebody please
Would you help me?
Want you to help me
Somebody please, please tell me why
Why did my baby, why did you have to leave
Won't you tell me why
Want you to help me
Somebody, somebody, somebody please
The lyrics to K-Ci & JoJo's 'Somebody Please' tell the story of a person who has been left heartbroken by their lover who has walked out on them. The singer is clearly in a state of distress and needs help to understand why this has happened. They are asking for someone to listen to their story and help them come to terms with their misery.
The song is a desperate plea for help, as the singer is struggling to cope with the pain of losing their loved one. They are pleading for someone to give them a shoulder to cry on and to help them understand what has gone wrong. The repetitive nature of the lyrics emphasizes the singer's desperation, as they continue to ask for help.
The emotion and pain in the song are conveyed through the raw and powerful vocals of K-Ci & JoJo. The harmonies and the soulful quality of their voices help to elevate the message of the song and make it resonate with listeners who have experienced similar feelings of heartbreak and loss.
