The song was debuted during the Miami listening party for Donda 2 on February 22, 2022. However, when the album was released on Kanye’s platform Stem Player on February 24, this was the only song not available to download despite being played at the record’s listening party.
A few hours after the album was released, an updated version of Ye’s hook was previewed on Instagram by producer Apex Martin. The snippet featured a slower tempo and a cleaner instrumental. It is likely that “Mr. Miyagi” will release in the future as Kanye affiliates have dubbed the February 24 release as “V2.22.22,” indicating that Donda 2 will continue to be worked on in other versions.
On May 15, 2022, Apex Martin previewed another snippet with an unheard verse from Ye with mumble and no inclusion from Playboi Carti during an Instagram live.
Eventually, on November 26, 2022, a leaked version of the song would release online.

Yeah, yeah (AyoAA)
Hey miss, I'm your Mr. Miyagi
I'ma come and kick it in the Balenciagi
Don't text me in the mornin', bae, I'm groggy
Text me, no FaceTime, I'm too groggy
'Bout to put a lil' bitch on a film (yeah, yeah, what?)
I done took off in air, I can't see him (yeah, yeah)
Bound to geeking before the codeine (yeah, yeah, what?)
Know the chief, I'm ahead of my time (yeah, yeah)
Got Chanel coat and then bought a nine (yeah, yeah)
Keepin' up with me, one of a kind (yeah, yeah)
Real ones know me from time
She said, "Tuck it in," fuck it then
You gon' have to tuck it in (what?)
You gon' wear the boots up, B
I can't suffer, you's a thief
I'm like, "No, not ankle boots
I need the ones up to the knee"
I don't fuck with niggas' tweets
I don't need the therapy
Bump-bump, I get money
Uh, I don't bump-bi-di-bump-bump
I don't wanna fall
We gon' run it up, run it up, I'm goin' dumb-dumb
They need to go uh, 'fore I bump, bump them
I'm ahead of my time (yeah, yeah)
Got Chanel coat and then bought a nine (yeah, yeah)
Keepin' up with me, one of a kind (yeah, yeah)
Real ones know me from time
Rockstar stunts the navy jean jacket ho, bitch
I might take a jet to Calabasas just to fuck my old bitch (whoa)
Push up on an opp, be on that dumb shit
Homixide in the box, yeah, they on dumb shit
I just fucked up the function, I just fucked it up (whoa)
I just fucked up the function, I just fucked it up
The lyrics of "Mr Miyagi" by Kanye West, Future, and Playboi Carti are a mix of braggadocio and romantic statements. The song's title references the 1984 movie 'The Karate Kid', where Mr. Miyagi is a wise mentor who teaches the young protagonist martial arts. In the first verse, the singer, who could be any of the three rappers, claims to be the listener's Mr. Miyagi, a mentor figure, and offers to spend time with them. They also mention that they are fashionable, as they wear Balenciaga shoes, and request their partner not to contact them early in the morning. The singer is 'too groggy,' and they prefer texts over FaceTime.
The second half of the verse appears to be by Playboi Carti, as he uses his characteristic high-pitched ad-libs. He talks about his wealth and compares himself to a 'geek' about to pass out due to his addiction to codeine. Carti's verse also has an obscure reference to Paul Revere's ride, with the line 'Know the chief, I'm ahead of my time.' In the chorus, the singer believes that they are unique and that 'real ones know me from time.' The second verse is even more disjointed than the first, with each line jumping to a slightly different image or situation. The lyrics contain more boastful statements, referencing the artist's luxury goods and ability to make money. They also mention having the power to disrupt social events or gatherings.
