Nosso Pagode
Karametade Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Wagninho, menino maneiro
Chegou afinando o seu violão
Sameer, já está no teclado
Mandando o recado cheio de emoção
Marcinho com todo carinho
Chegando juntinho na percussão
No meu cavaco eu fazenjdo a introdução, meu irmão
Vamos fazer a corrente e cantar com emoção
No meu cavaco eu fazenjdo a introdução, meu irmão
No pagode do Karamedate
The song "Nosso Pagode" by Karametade is a celebratory and lively samba tune that invites people to join in and participate in the joy of the music. The lyrics describe a gathering of musicians and friends who are getting ready to start their pagode, or party, with Vavá calling up his friends Pepê, Dodô, and Marcelo to come join in. As the different musicians arrive, they start playing and singing, with the cavaquinho (a small guitar-like instrument) leading the way in the introduction. The chorus invites everyone to come and participate, to clap their hands, and to enjoy the music and the company of others.
The song captures the essence of Brazilian pagode, which is a style of music that originated in the Rio de Janeiro region in the 1970s and became popular in the 1980s and 1990s. Pagode is a fusion of samba and other African-Brazilian rhythms and is often associated with informal gatherings and parties among friends and families. The lyrics of "Nosso Pagode" reflect the sense of community, camaraderie, and pleasure that is at the heart of pagode, creating a joyful and upbeat atmosphere that invites people to join in and participate in the fun.
Overall, "Nosso Pagode" is a beautiful representation of the Brazilian music culture and one that invites people to come together and celebrate life through music and dance.
