Jenkins was born in Neath, Wales, where she and her sister Laura were raised by their parents Selwyn John (1924–1995) and Susan. She has twin half-sisters from her father's first marriage, neither of whom she has met.
Six out of seven of Jenkins's studio albums reached number one in the classical charts between 2004 and 2008, selling a total of more than 4 million copies. After her first album, Premiere, made her the fastest-selling mezzo-soprano to date she became the first British classical crossover artist to have two number one albums in the same year. She is also the first female artist to win two consecutive Classical BRIT Awards: her second album, Second Nature, reached number 16 in the UK pop charts and was Album of the Year in the 2005 BRIT Awards.
On Sunday 25th November 2007, Katherine Jenkins' new album 'Rejoice' entered the 'Official UK Album Chart' at number 3. Katherine beat off stiff competition from the likes of Girls Aloud, Led Zeppelin, Spice Girls, Take That and Celine Dion.
En Aranjuez Con Tu Amor
Katherine Jenkins Lyrics

Un lugar de ensueсos y de amor
Donde un rumor de fuentes de cristal
En el jardнn parece hablar
En voz baja a las rosas
Aranjuez,
Hoy las hojas secas sin color
Que barre el viento
Juntos empezamos tu y yo
Y sin razуn olvidamos
Quizб ese amor escondido estй
En un atardecer
En la brisa o en la flor
Esperando tu regreso
Aranjuez,
Hoy las hojas secas sin color
Que barre el viento
Son recuerdos del romance que una vez
Juntos empezamos tu y yo
Y sin razуn olvidamos
En Aranjuez, amor
Tu y yo
The lyrics to Katherine Jenkins's song En Aranjuez con tu amor express a feeling of longing for lost love in the idyllic location of Aranjuez. The song describes Aranjuez as a place of dreams and love, where the sound of crystal fountains whisper to the roses in the garden. However, the present reality is a stark contrast, with dry and colorless leaves swept away by the wind, symbols of the romance that once blossomed between two lovers, which was inexplicably forgotten. The hope remains that the hidden love might be waiting for the lover's return, in the sunset, the breeze or the flower.
The song creates a powerful sense of nostalgia, with the singer remembering the time spent with their loved one in Aranjuez. The use of the poetic imagery of crystal fountains and talking roses evoke an otherworldly atmosphere, making Aranjuez seem like a place out of a fairy tale. This creates a contrast with the present harsh reality, where the once beautiful and vibrant love has wilted away. Nevertheless, the possibility of the love hidden somewhere gives a glimmer of hope that the lovers can reunite.
