Jenkins was born in Neath, Wales, where she and her sister Laura were raised by their parents Selwyn John (1924–1995) and Susan. She has twin half-sisters from her father's first marriage, neither of whom she has met.
Six out of seven of Jenkins's studio albums reached number one in the classical charts between 2004 and 2008, selling a total of more than 4 million copies. After her first album, Premiere, made her the fastest-selling mezzo-soprano to date she became the first British classical crossover artist to have two number one albums in the same year. She is also the first female artist to win two consecutive Classical BRIT Awards: her second album, Second Nature, reached number 16 in the UK pop charts and was Album of the Year in the 2005 BRIT Awards.
On Sunday 25th November 2007, Katherine Jenkins' new album 'Rejoice' entered the 'Official UK Album Chart' at number 3. Katherine beat off stiff competition from the likes of Girls Aloud, Led Zeppelin, Spice Girls, Take That and Celine Dion.
Never Enough

Let it stay this way
Can't let this moment end
You set off a dream in me
Getting louder now
Can you hear it echoing?
Take my hand
Will you share this with me?
All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the nightsky
Will never be enough
Never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it'll
Never be enough
Never be enough
For me
Never, never
Never, never
Never, for me
For me
Never enough
Never enough
Never enough
For me
For me
For me
All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the nightsky
Will never be enough
Never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it'll
Never be enough
Never be enough
For me
Never, never
Never, never
Never, for me
For me
Never enough
Never, never
Never enough
Never, never
Never enough
For me
For me
For me
For me
The lyrics of Katherine Jenkins's song, Never Enough, convey a yearning for more than what fame, fortune, and even worldly possessions can bring. The song's opening lines present a scene of someone trying to hold their breath, emphasizing the desire to sustain a particular moment. They do not want it to end because it has set off a dream, which echoes loudly. The dream could represent the feeling of wanting more than what the world offers, and it's a dream that cannot be silenced. Furthermore, the lyrics emphasize the importance of having someone by your side, someone to share your dreams with, and someone who makes everything worthwhile.
The song's chorus highlights the futility of attempting to attain true fulfillment through material things. The lyrics point at towers of gold being too little and how even having the power to hold the world would fail to be enough. Throughout the song, Jenkins sings about wanting more from life than what riches and success can offer. Finally, the words "never enough" carry powerful emotions behind them. These words convey a sense of deep longing, regret, and even hopelessness that only someone who has experienced this feeling can understand.
