Meron Ba

‘Di na naman kita nadama
Ang tagal na nating ‘di nag-uusap
Pinag-iisipan kita
Meron bang nawawalan ng sarili sa mundo
Tayo ay naglalakbay patungo sa ginto
Ikaw ang aking parola
Kahit ‘di mo ako nakikita
‘Pag malapit ang mapanganib na mga alon
Ikaw ang aking gabay
Meron bang nawawalan ng sarili sa mundo
Tayo ay naglalakbay patungo sa ginto
Papa’no na ang bukas
Papa’no na ngayon
Palayo nang palayo sa ‘yo
Iniisip kita (oh)
Iniisip kita (oh)
Iniisip kita (oh ah ah)
Iniisip kita (oh)
Iniisip kita
Iniisip kita
Iniisip kita (oh)
Iniisip kita (oh)
Iniisip kita (oh ah ah)
Iniisip kita (oh)
The song "Meron Ba" by Kjwan is a poignant expression of longing for a person who has been absent from one's life. The lyrics express the frustration and hopelessness of missing someone who seems to have disappeared: "‘Di na naman kita naabutan / ‘Di na naman kita nadama / Ang tagal na nating ‘di nag-uusap / Pinag-iisipan kita." The singer is haunted by thoughts of this person, wondering if they have lost themselves in the world, as they themselves journey towards the unknown ("Meron bang nawawalan ng sarili sa mundo / Tayo ay naglalakbay patungo sa ginto").
Despite the distance and absence, the singer finds comfort in the thought of this person as their "parola" or lighthouse, "Kahit ‘di mo ako nakikita / ‘Pag malapit ang mapanganib na mga alon / Ikaw ang aking gabay." The song hints at a complex relationship, one that has been marked by silence, separation, and an uncertain future ("Papa’no na ang bukas / Papa’no na ngayon / Palayo nang palayo sa ‘yo"). Nonetheless, the singer can't help but think of this person constantly, caught in the grip of their memory ("Iniisip kita").
Overall, "Meron Ba" is a moving and evocative song that captures the emotional tensions and longing of a relationship that has unraveled. It speaks to the human desire for connection and the pain of loss, even as it acknowledges the possibility of hope and guidance in dark times.
