In her songs klea primarily writes about moving topics like failed love but also about fear of the future, depression, self-doubt, indecision and standstill. “I tend to find it easier to write about melancholy and thoughtful subjects. I think that in the end it is exactly these songs in which many people can find themselves and feel understood.
With her debut single “Uhren auf Anfang” the young artist presents herself with an autobiographical song that couldn't be more honest. So honest and intimate that at first it was difficult for her to play the song to anyone at all.
klea has developed her own unique sound and style and interprets her songs with her sensitive voice that gets under people's skin. And that's exactly what klea wants with her music: to touch people.
Under her real name Kim Leitinger, klea has already shown that she knows what it means to build a wide-reaching community. Since 2012 she has been uploading self-produced cover versions of well-known and less well-known songs - all interpreted in her unique "klea style" - on her YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/kleamusik).
With more than 50,000 subscribers today and over 5 million views on her videos, she was named “Newcomer of the Year” by the VideoDays jury. YouTube selected the young artist as a newcomer in 2017 for the internationally renowned YouTube NextUp program.
Whether at the VideoDays in Berlin, as support for the artist Alycia Marie on her Reflections Tour 2016 or at the Xmas party in the YouTube Space and at many other appearances: Kim knows how to touch people with her soulful voice and her authentic texts and also to cast a spell live. On her first major support tour for the artist “Körner” she was able to present her own songs live in front of a larger audience for the first time in November 2018. The great demand for the first tour EP was an indication of the interest in the newcomer's songs.
With her new artist name klea she sets the »clocks to the beginning« for a new chapter in her music and in her life.

Wär ich angewurzelt am Asphalt
Da, wo die Risse sind
Stehen meine Füße still
The song "Asphalt" by Klea discusses feeling stuck and unable to move forward, both physically and emotionally. The singer describes feeling rooted to the ground, unable to even take a step forward without falling. They are standing on cracked asphalt, the only place where they feel they belong, and even though the ground is giving way underneath them, they choose to stay. They mention waiting for the rain to wash away their troubles, and for the days to become longer again, signifying the end of a dark period in their life. The final lines express uncertainty about how much longer they can continue to stand still, feeling lost and disconnected from the world around them.

Ich geh nirgendwo hin, scheint als
Wär ich angewurzelt am Asphalt
I'm stuck here, as if I'm rooted on the asphalt
Da, wo die Risse sind
Stehen meine Füße still
I can't move, even one centimeter, my feet are fixed where the cracks are
Kann mich nicht bewegen, nicht mal
Nur einen Zentimeter bis zum Fall
I can't move, not even one centimeter, without falling
Ganz vorne an dem Rand, da
Bin ich schon zu nah dran
If I go any further to the edge, I'll be too close
The ground underneath me is too soft and I'm sinking, but I'm staying here, no matter how long it takes
Solange, bis die Tage wieder länger sind
Und der Regen im Asphalt verrinnt
Sag, wie lange noch?
Ich warte immer noch
I'm waiting here until the days become longer and the rain washes away the asphalt, but how long will it take?
Bis ich wieder lern, zu funktionieren
Sich meine Spuren im Asphalt verliern
Sag, wie lange noch?
Sag, wie lange noch?
I'm waiting until I can function normally again and my footsteps disappear from the asphalt, but how much longer?
Da, wo zu Hause ist
Gehör ich nicht mehr hin
I don't belong where I used to call home
I can't find any stability on this asphalt, and the more I stay, the more time I waste, and I don't know what to do
Wann die Tage wieder heller sind
Und der Regen im Asphalt verrinnt
Sag, wie lange noch?
I'm asking, how much longer will it take until the days are brighter and the rain washes away the asphalt?

Gegeneinander
Mit viel Gefühl
Sehr schoen
