(1) The hard-roots reggae vocal group Knowledge, recorded the 'Hail Dread' album for Tappa Zukie in 1978. It was released by A&M UK, but inappropriately marketed. The album consequently failed to attract the attention of reggae collectors and is, today, a largely unrecognised classic of the genre.

The original line-up consisted of singer/songwriter Anthony Doyley and Michael Smith on guitar with Earl McFarlane, Michael Samuels and Delroy Fawlin on vocals.

‘Hail Dread’ was followed by ‘Judgement’. Selected tracks from both albums are available on ‘Straight Outta Trenchtown: 1975-1980’

The next decade saw the release of further recordings, although by this time several of the group had met violent ends.

(2) Knowledge were formed by Link 80 lead singer Nick Traina (The Son of Daneile Steel, who wrote a Biography about him called "His Bright light"). Before the death of Nick Traina in 1997, they recorded one demo album called 'Gift Before I Go', which was released on Asian Man Records.

(3) A Hip-Hop artist from Skelmersdale, UK, part of the Hip-Hop group Skem Poet Society
(4) An up-and-coming UK Hip-Hop artist signed to the independant label, RawTalk Recordings

Overall Meaning

In the lyrics of Knowledge's song "Better Things," the artist is expressing his frustration with people who underestimate him because of his age. He asserts that despite being younger than some, he has already experienced and learned a lot, having lived his life "under the gun." He challenges the idea that being old automatically means being superior, declaring bluntly that those who think this way can "suck my ass." Communism would not create wealth as it would simply remove the incentives to compete and produce, but some critics would argue that living a money focused life might not actually be our best interest.

I would add 2 things: 1. Not everybody is going to like you, and that’s fine. Even the most likable, honest person will have at least one person who dislikes them. Nobody has 100% approval rating, so don’t get upset by that.
2. You will meet some people that you don’t like, for whatever reason. And that’s fine. Disliking them doesn’t mean you can’t get along with them, or at least act cordially. If their behavior is truly out of line, let them know, privately if possible, don’t be afraid to set boundaries.
3. It’s harder to make close friends as an adult. When young, you have plenty of time and opportunity to hang out, so it generally happens naturally. As adults, you have less free time and so many things competing for your attention: family, work, exercise, hobbies, etc. You have to make an effort to maintain friendships or cultivate new ones, or else you’ll drift apart. And 4: while you are ultimately responsible for your self and your happiness, it always helps to have people in your corner.

People do come in and out of life (especially professionally) but I don't recognize a specific correlation to their having "doubted" me. I think there's multiple reasons for this. and while some of the reasons wouldn't be enough on their own rarely are those reasons happening on their own. one reason that comes to mind is the schools do a terrible job at making reading seem fun. first off is the book choices, the majority of the books I had to read in both HS and College classes where so horrible it really took all the energy i could to read them. sure there where a few that where not bad but those where more the exception then the rule, 2nd off is how the classes typically test to make sure you've read the story. instead of getting into some interesting discussion about the plot, or the characters, or some other element of the book. but more of a game of trivial pursuit but with rather bland questions, that have you doing more of a phrase search, or a looking up a quote or some surface level answer to an event. you can't just read the story and find something interesting in it. you have to look for specific things and talk about them on a specific way to get a good grade. if my only experience with books are crap novels that would of died off years ago if they weren't on required reading lists, and the few good books I did come across I didn't really have the time to enjoy as I had to not only finish reading the book but do all the phrase and quote finding and word analysis before the assignment is due. why would I even consider trying to do it for fun? when I got plenty of experience doing it but it's never been fun up to this point ever.
On a different note reading books is mostly a passive experience, not to the same degree as tv, but still your just an observer in the story, you can't poke around and change things in it, you can't affect how it turns out. What if you are more interested in the kinds of stories where you can do that? there are a bunch of places where you can do just that today, where there isn't just a single author but everyone reading that story adds on to it. Which leads to this delightful back and forth between all involved and really does let you poke around and affect the story. I do plenty of the latter as I think it's more fun that way having an active role in the outcome of the story rather then just reading a completed work by someone else. So I can say it's been quite some time since I've read an actual book. But the same can't be said for how long it was since the last time I read a story.

I told her, if that’s true then lucky for us! That means this indifferent universe of ours has inadvertently given us each a blank canvas and a lifetime supply of paint. We get to GIVE meaning to life! We’re not assigned a purpose; We create our own from scratch. In theory, i been doing this for three years and all i can say is you will have a tendency to show observer bias. You might have a good idea of who you are but then weigh that to real life. How often again will you use your strength into the future unless you develop another strength, or how well do you know your environment that it will exploit that same weakness. Over time the best thing each one of us can develop is patience, trust, hard work and endurance. I don't know everything nor claim to do so, but i can understand that wherever we are in this life or around the world even, whatever we face each day if we humble ourselves and face our fears or boredem it can reflect our true character content.

It's kind of discouraging how important reading seems to be when I'm dyslexic so it takes so much time and effort compared to typical readers. Audio books just don't feel the same though, so I may have to just bite the bullet and struggle for a bit because I really used to enjoy reading.

I say this, because I don't read a lot, but I feel this way in mediums that are more "accessible" to me like movies, video games, and youtube videos (some more than others). What do you think, is this a wise statement, or do I need to pick up a book?

It's all about rejection.

It's that simple, forget the past, don't ponder on what could have happened or why things happened the way it did, be spontaneous, let go off daily routines, try new things, and fear not, for everything will happen the way they are.

It's all about taking chances and not making life changing mistakes, a difficult balance to achieve, like diving into that empty swimming pool when you're pissed out of your head at 3am in the morning, is probably a bad idea, but the odd sexual or financial mishap might be OK (small mistakes are OK when you're young, you have plenty of time to recover, an expert, after all, is a guy who's made lots of mistakes). It's all about luck, at the end of the day, but one thing's for sure, unless you put yourself in a volatile situation, where luck can affect you it won't happen. Never mind, you can always become an accountant or something. Ha! Zzzzz!

Good advice, but I have to disagree with 16. People who don’t like you do not come back just because your life changes for the better, and they shouldn’t have to because they have their own lives to live. The world and other people’s lives don’t revolve around you whether you stay the same or change. There are literally billions of people on this planet, just forget the ones that aren’t for you and move on.

#7 "The masses are not the ones who live the lives they dreamed of living. And the reason is because they didn't fight hard enough" lol that is incredibly stupid.
I myself live a good life, I have meaningful relationships, I have a job I enjoy that pays well, I'm reasonably healthy.
But I don't have all that because I fought hard, it's mostly because I got extremely lucky.
I was fortunate enough to inherit some traits from my parents that allowed me to "make it" in the profession I wanted, I was fortunate enough to have my parents around to nurture my natural talents and shape me in a positive way, I was fortunate enough to be born in a country with public healthcare and good public schools, so even though I'm from a poor family (grew up in a rented studio in a shitty neighborhood), I could still have the stability and opportunities that aren't as broadly available in most parts of the world.
To judge the effort solely based on the outcome, not accounting for other essential factors, is just very ignorant and logically flawed.

In the real world....we are certainly not yet celebrating the glorious day that we found a cure for cancer...or would you suggest we are? Perhaps it’s best to remember that life tends to move in a spiral...not in an endless circle. Think of it as a circular track that is gaining altitude every year. Clearly no points on the circle will ever intersect..as the last revolution around the axis is always one step higher in the helix.

We are not really destined to die but we are destined to live .
The simplest thing that we never wanted, but when we aquire it, it is almost immpossible to imagine not having it, or what was it like before we aquired it . We ourself nay never die but everyone around us, though be ye an average Joe, or an outrageous hoe, quiet and quaint, sinner or saint, there is a date that states you were here, but now ya ain't !
Dying really can screw up my plans by showing up before my dream date or that test I was not ready for, a bit late.

@Bravozulu You do always, every date is an anniversary of some event. We don't need to give it importance till it becomes so on a personal level. July 4th is a holiday fir americans or is it the worst day of a woman's life that bares an unknown future of a few who were effected by it and a most undesirable life for one person due to that person is the constant reminder of that night. There were 137, 685 babies born on sept 11, 2001, but due to relegion and politics we took away their birthday and gave it some other meaning other than just being another birthday, its now more not of any act of the ones born but when they were.
264, 400 + people died in the time it took me to write this. It will be forgotten and dismissed.

16 definitely should redone as it’s only half true, like status has an impact on your desirability, but circumstances on both persons could easily lead you out of that direction, “ie- conflicts, convenience, association and a change social personality”

That's right, and then you get the blame for not understanding and adapting to their ways! You've become the outcast, the odd person in the group. You don't think like they do so you're 'wrong'.
The major factor that would set one apart from others is the ability to self-correct and actively listen to others. Example: Have you ever noticed how hard it is to explain your political preferences and beliefs to someone whose preferences and beliefs are completely different? Chances are that the other person gets angry and leaves the conversation or starts calling you names. They don't take the effort to listen and don't dare to let their ideas be questioned. In daily life it seems so difficult to find people who can listen to another.

Very easy things to say. Go to poor places and live like how they live there. I don't think you still have time to do what makes you happy coz you're too busy finding ways to be alive or your family alive. And worse, other people will do something bad to you and to others because they also need to survive the hardships of life. That's the reality living as poor in poor places/countries.

21. Don't accept every "things people realize too late in life" video as a universal truth. This video has good points but it's outdated for today's society. But so is every other video like this one.

No matter how much you believe in yourself, that girl who refused to date you won't come around chasing after you, that's not how it works. Oh, the kid who used to bully you in school? You won't believe me but the truth is that you will probably end up working for them. He bullied you because you were an easy target for your insecurities, while he was confident and kinda narcissist. But self confidence and a slightly out of spec moral compass are the prerequisites to be an employer.

Take every video like this with a grain of salt because at the end of the day there is another imperfect human like us behind it.
