There's a lamp that won't light
A lamp in my poetry room is not lighting up.

In my poetry room
The room where I mostly write poetry.

And children out playing
I can hear children playing outside.

And a big full moon
The moon is large and full tonight.

My man's barricaded down in his womb
My partner is isolating himself and not interacting with anyone.

He'll be coming out soon
My partner will come out of his shell soon.

I remember when I met him
I recall the moment I met my partner.

He blew in like the wind
My partner came into my life quickly and unexpectedly.

No one was more beautiful
I found my partner to be the most beautiful person in the world.

Or dangerous than him
My partner was the most dangerous person I've known.

He blew through my soul
My partner touched my innermost being deeply.

Like a tangerine wind
He was like a refreshing and invigorating tropical wind.

I never knew I
I never realized before.

Was built so strong
I did not know that I was capable of handling difficult situations as well as I can.

My heart
I am referring to my emotional strength.

My heart is a boat on the sea
My emotions are like a boat on an unpredictable sea.

I never thought I
I never imagined that.

Was built for hurricanes
I never realized how well I could handle challenging and intense situations.

Luxury looms on a fog-bound day
Ominous weather conditions bring a sense of luxury, which is an ironic contrast.

I'm not alone now and I'm not afraid
I have someone to rely on and am no longer scared.

I'm clean and I'm free it's all stripped away
I am pure and unrestricted, with nothing holding me back.

My debts are paid
My debts have been accounted for and are no longer an issue.

I wonder if he ever looks down on the sea
I am curious as to whether my partner ever thinks about the ocean.

And thinks about the time
He reminisces about the memories we have shared.

He spent with me
The time we spent together.

I know everything's exactly how it should be
I am content with the current state of affairs in my life.

All's right with this world
All is well and perfect in the world as it is.

In the cold and the dark...
Refers to dark and lonely times.

You're the grace of my heart
My partner is my source of comfort and hope during difficult times.

In the cold... and the dark...
Again, referring to times of isolation and despair.

You're the grace... of my heart
My partner is always there for me and brings hope and love to my life.
