This is incredible and I've been lowkey crying since the last chapter haha......... The way the beginning totally minimized the involvement int he war like it was a tiny forgettable thing but Billy's time changes disprove that again and again. "And so it goes" being the only possible reaction to this kind of tragedy, where you can't avoid acknowledging it but won't do anyone the disrespect of making tragedy sound positive or comforting (as opposed to "they're in a better place" or "everything happens for a reason" or even "it was their time"). How Billy acknowledges that he can't change anything about his life - he's a passive observer no matter what time he's in, and I'm guessing as the book goes on we'll find out more about why he learned to react that way.
Given what Billy's daughter said/will say/is saying about Billy having brain damage etc., I'm tempted to put on my Story Analysis Hat and try to find the secret code that reveals what the aliens actually were, etc etc, but I actually really don't want that. We're experiencing Billy's reality through Billy's perception. The aliens are real and there's nothing more to it. Maybe by the end of the book I'll change my mind and say, "ah, the aliens symbolized such-and-such," but a lot of things happen to us that we don't understand and can't explain to other people. If it wasn't aliens, if it was a dream of aliens that Billy knew wasn't real but kept thinking about, that wouldn't affect anything. So let's give Billy the benefit of the doubt and let the aliens be real for now.

For those of you who need to read fast to get the book done (like myself) go to the settings button on the video (the gear looking thing) and press speed, then 1.25 or 1.5, or however fast you want. I can read a chapter in 10 minutes this way.

Chapter is 10 minutes long in normal speed

The book is less than 50,000 words. That is practically nothing. Of all books for "reading time" to be a considering factor, why this one? It'd take the average person around 2.5 hours to sit and read the book, half the time it would take to listen to it.

Is it just me or does this guy sorta sound like Kermit the Frog at certain points.
