«In this band I did what I liked», remembers Charly. Inspired by the "elaborate" rock of Steely Dan and the Genesis "symphonism", Charly García formed one of the best Argentine bands rooted in the progressive genre. «We are the Yes of the Third World», synthesizes García. At the time, however, none of the LP's was sucessful, being recognized by the critics and the public long afterwards.
The band dissolved due to internal troubles around 1977.

No Puedo Verme Más
La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros Lyrics

Le dijo al disfraz:
"Necesito verme asustado"
No puedo verme
No hay maquillaje para quien no ve
Su reflejo por ningun lado
El chico de la guitarra gritó:
"Necesito volverme negro"
No puedo verme
Su mamá llora y llama al doctor
Para salvarlo del infierno
No puedo verme, no puede verme
Cuántos espejos en este lugar
Se descorren continuamente-mente
No puedo verte
Hay un amigo llorando hasta que me decía:
"No puedo verme"
The lyrics of "No Puedo Verme Más" by La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros depict a sense of inner turmoil and self-doubt. The singer expresses their inability to see themselves, their fear, and the need to confront and overcome their fears. The lyrics suggest that they feel invisible or disconnected from their own identity, as they cannot perceive their reflection in any mirror.
The song touches upon themes of self-perception and the struggle to find oneself. The line "No hay maquillaje para quien no ve su reflejo por ningun lado" (There is no makeup for someone who cannot see their reflection anywhere) implies that no external alteration or disguise can help the singer in their search for personal identity. Additionally, the line "El chico de la guitarra gritó: 'Necesito volverme negro'" (The guitar boy shouted: 'I need to turn black') suggests that the singer may be longing for a radical change or transformation in order to truly see themselves.
Furthermore, the mention of the singer's mother crying and calling a doctor to save them from hell adds another layer of complexity to the lyrics. This could suggest that the singer's struggle with self-perception is overwhelming not just for themselves but also for those close to them.
Overall, "No Puedo Verme Más" explores a personal journey of self-discovery, highlighting the challenges and frustrations of not being able to see oneself and the desire for self-transformation.
