My family are all rappers and singers anyway so I was always involved in it from a young age."
Where Are You Now?
Lady Leshurr Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Mad ting, man
And I can't see them anymore
Where are ya, where are you now?
Where, can't see you anywhere (nah)
Rude girl, stay over there (stay)
Or I'll put you back like hair (scrape 'em back)
Oh wow, it's unfair
You'll get air, when I'm in the building, you come out
When I'm onstage, it gets shut down
When I walk in you best look down
Fire alie, gets bun down
Everyone knows I'm the talk of the town
Everyone know when I'm walking in town
Oh my gosh, is that Lesha?
Make them fall to the ground, wow
Where are you now? (where?) 'cause I can't see ya (I can't see ya)
Where are you now? (where?) I wouldn't wanna be ya (I wouldn't wanna be ya)
I be like where are you now? (where?) 'cause I can't see ya (I can't see ya)
Where are you now? (where?) I wouldn't wanna be ya (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
I said where are you now, where are you now?
Where are ya, kid?
I'm like wait, where are you, kid?
You fell off, now your arm is ripped
Attention, army ting
Thought you was on top
Then you just flopped
You thought you was gonna blow up
You was gassed, got popped, look, you're so late (so late) with it
I said you're so late with it
I'm on top and you're hating it
And you look like eighty-six years old
I get paid to spit
Heard your stuff, ain't rating it
Wait, hmm, your boyfriend was staring me down
Now he's on my phone like "where are you now?"
Where are you now? 'cause I can't see ya (I can't see ya)
Where are you now? I wouldn't wanna be ya (I wouldn't wanna be ya)
I be like where are you now? 'cause I can't see ya (I can't see ya)
Where are you now? I wouldn't wanna be ya (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, 'cause any time I speak, that's news
See man on the six o'clock news
I've got choices, so I can choose
I've got a shop and we sell sports shoes
And I'm in control when man cruise
My DJ on the ones and twos
Ain't from the 6, but I still got views
Any time I speak, that's news
Any time I speak, that's doo-doo-doo-dadada
Any time I speak, that's tiger, tiger
Done with the shoulda- coulda, doo-doo-doo-dadada
Wiley, I'm getting them hyper, hyper
Doing this ting since MC Creepin'
Doing this ting ever since Pied Piper
And I know Mandem in jail doing five, doing tens, doing fifteens and I know lifers
Where are you now? (where) 'cause I can't see ya (I can't see ya)
Where are you now? I wouldn't wanna be ya (I wouldn't wanna be ya)
Where are you now? 'cause I can't see ya (I can't see ya)
Where are you now?
I wouldn't wanna be ya (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now? I can't see ya (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
Where are you now, where are you now? (where?)
I mean
Where are ya, man? (where)
You was on top of your game, son (hmm)
Now I can't even see ya (can't see you, though)
You fell off, you have
Where are you now?
The song Where Are You Now by Lady Leshurr explores the theme of people leaving the music scene and becoming irrelevant. In the opening lines, Lady Leshurr expresses her frustration that so many people have left the scene, and she can no longer see them. The repetition of the question where are you now highlights her confusion and disappointment. She goes on to reference her status in the industry, portraying herself as top dog and warning others to stay in their lane. She even threatens to put them back in their place if they don't. She mentions how everyone talks about her when she's in town, and how she shuts things down when she performs.
Later in the song, Lady Leshurr addresses those who have fallen off or failed to make an impact in the industry. She calls them out, saying that they got popped, and they look outdated. She boasts about being paid to spit and mocks those who aren't rating her music. Finally, she mentions that her words are news, and her views matter, while also acknowledging the struggles of those who are behind bars. The song ends with Lady Leshurr repeating the question where are you now, emphasizing that she's still there and in control.
