Daytona Meth
Lana Del Rey Lyrics

The black and white waves sparkling truly
My man likes to watch me while I watch TV
While he's t-t-touching me
I remember vintage green wallpaper
Your criminal arms, I couldn't feel safer
King Creole daddy, chasing that paper
Baby you'll never be old in my eyes
With your golden grill true love never dies
We're forever young in paradise
As long as you got the Chevrolet, I will ride
I will ride i will ride
Baby you know mama never had much money
But I plan on using this face to pay, honey
Give me give me give me give
You're so funny, love you 'til I die
Who's living life like it's the Belvedere
Swinging all night on the crystal chandelier
Bring that velvet Elvis over here
Come on, baby you never know 'til you try
Baby you never live 'til you die
Baby you never love 'til you're mine
C'mon you're mine, you're mine, you're mine
In Lana Del Rey's song "Daytona Meth," the lyrics depict a nostalgic and slightly surreal love story set in the glamorous world of Hollywood. The opening line, "It's like a Hollywood movie," sets the tone for the lyrics that follow. The singer describes a scene where the waves are sparkling in black and white, creating a dream-like atmosphere. She sings about her partner enjoying watching her while she watches TV, emphasizing the intimate connection between them.
The lyrics then delve into a memory, referencing vintage green wallpaper and the singer feeling safe in the arms of her lover, who is portrayed as a "King Creole daddy" chasing after success. Despite their potentially unconventional circumstances, she proclaims her love for him. The chorus continues the theme of eternal love and youth, with the singer stating that her partner will never grow old in her eyes as long as they have their Chevrolet, symbolizing the freedom and excitement of their relationship.
The second verse reveals the singer's longing for financial security, expressing her intention to use her beauty and charm to bring her success. She playfully requests attention and affection, highlighting the humorous and loving dynamic she shares with her partner. The bridge of the song introduces a sense of rebellion and spontaneity, encouraging the listener to embrace life and love fully. The repeated phrases "you never know 'til you try," "you never live 'til you die," and "you never love 'til you're mine" emphasize the importance of taking risks and seizing the present moment.
Overall, "Daytona Meth" offers a nostalgic and somewhat romanticized portrayal of love and life in Hollywood, with Lana Del Rey's signature dreamy and atmospheric sound.
