Ooh Baby
Lana Del Rey Lyrics

Ooh Baby, can't you hear out favorite song
Ooh Baby, make me wait a bit too long
I don't ever wanna stop, show me everything you got
I've done this before and I should know better
Ooh Baby what planet are you o-on?
What'cha waiting for?
What'cha waiting for?
Did you say you wanna dance with me?
Say you wanna put your hands on me
Did you say that there's a chance for me?
Are you ready now?
Did you say you wanna dance with me?
Should be taking off your pants for me
Are you ready for me finally?
Are you ready now?
Ooh Baby look at all your hard well friends
Ooh Baby thinking I don't understand
Cause I'm drinking diet coke a lot
Sucking on my lollipops
I'm the one that grown up, but no one's better
Ooh Baby when you gonna be my man?
What'cha waiting for?
What'cha waiting for?
Did you say you wanna dance with me?
Say you wanna put your hands on me
Did you say that there's a chance for me?
Are you ready now?
Did you say you wanna dance with me?
Should be taking off your pants for me
Are you ready for me finally?
Are you ready now?
Did you say you wanna dance with me?
Say you wanna put your hands on me
Did you say that there's a chance for me?
Are you ready now?
You tell me that you love me
I know you do, I know you do
It doesn't matter what they say, it's true
Did you say you wanna dance with me?
Say you wanna put your hands on me
Did you say that there's a chance for me?
Are you ready now?
Did you say you wanna dance with me?
Should be taking off your pants for me
Are you ready for me finally?
Are you ready now?
Did you say you wanna dance with me?
Say you wanna put your hands on me
Did you say that there's a chance for me?
Are you ready now?
Did you say you wanna dance with me?
Should be taking off your ṗants for me
Are you ready for me finally?
Are you ready now?
Are you ready now?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Lana Del Rey's song Ooh Baby express a sense of longing and impatience for a lover. The singer cannot stop listening to their favorite song and wishes their partner would dance with them and show them everything they've got. They feel like they've been in this situation before and should know better, but they still can't resist their lover. The singer questions what planet their partner is on and what they are waiting for.

The chorus repeats the same lines, asking if the partner wants to dance, put their hands on the singer, or if there's a chance for them. The singer is ready for their partner, asking if their partner is finally ready now. The second verse mentions the partner's friends, and the singer feels like the partner is underestimating their understanding of the situation because they drink diet coke and suck on lollipops. The singer wants to know when their partner will be theirs and questions what they are waiting for.

Overall, the song expresses a desire for a deeper connection and commitment from a partner who the singer feels a strong attraction to. The repetition of the chorus emphasizes this desire and the impatience of the singer.

This is one of the most intelligents videos I've ever seen from an artist. I love analysing videos like that, and Lana certainly nailed it... I personally see herself shared in 2 Lana's: The one that follows love and the one that follows power.

When she starts singing until the chorus, it looks like the "happy lana", having fun in simple places with the man she loves.

When it hits the chorus, you see her smoking cigarretes with this old guy she clearly doesn't love. You see the changes in her voice. She sings beautifully, but she seems sorrow, unhappy, sad. And when the chorus ends, she comes back to be the happy lana.

By the end of the song, she is consumed by fire. It is like she chose to lose her soul to the unhappy Lana, who's losing herself to the fires, and while that happens, her soul dances among power and her pride. Like she's not regretted.

It's BRILLIANT. If you read this, pleaaaaaaaase watch the video with that in mind and comment here what you think!

I had to get high on weed to understand that. Lana is a Genius!!!!!!!

Down on the west coast
They got a saying
If you're not drinkin' then you're not playin
But you’ve got the music
You’ve got the music in you
Don’t you?

Down on the west coast
I get this feeling like
It all could happen
That’s why I’m leaving you for the moment
You for the moment
Boy blue, yeah, you

You're falling hard, I push away
I'm feelin' hot to the touch
You say you miss me
And I wanna say I miss you so much
But something keeps me really quiet
I'm alive, I'm a lush
Your love, your love, my love

I can see my baby swingin'
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh, baby, ooh, baby, I'm in love

I can see my sweet boy swayin'
He's crazy y cubano como yo, my love
On the balcony and I'm saying
Move baby, move baby
I'm in love
I'm in love (I'm in love)
I'm in love (I'm in love)

Down on the west coast
They got their icons
Their silver starlets
Their queens of saigons
And you’ve got the music
You’ve got the music in you
Don’t you?

Down on the west coast
They love their movies
Their golden dozen
And rock and roll groupies
And you’ve got the music
You’ve got the music in you
Don’t you?

You push it hard, I pull away
I'm feeling hotter than fire
I guess that no one ever really
Made me feel that much higher
Te deseo cariño
Boy, it’s you I desire
Your love, your love, my love

I can see my baby swingin'
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh, baby, ooh, baby, I'm in love

I can see my sweet boy swayin'
He's crazy y cubano como yo, my love
On the balcony and I'm saying
Move baby, move baby
I'm in love

I can see my baby swingin'
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh, baby, ooh, baby, I'm in love

I can see my sweet boy swayin'
He's crazy y cubano como yo, my love
On the balcony and I'm saying
Move baby, move baby
I'm in love

I'm in love
I'm in love

This song is very underrated. The transition between the chorus and the verse is the best I've ever heard. It literally makes you high.
