The song "Bella" by Laurence Jalbert tells the story of a woman who is worn down by life and has lost hope. In the evening sky of the city, she walks with a slow train, her shadow aged under the crumbling cobblestones of the clay alleys where her loves lie. The lyrics speak of the woman's wild and eventful nights, where she sought refuge and comfort in the arms of different men. However, the reality is that she has been rejected and ridiculed by those she sought comfort from. The children throw stones at her, and people mock her wild hair and the terror in her eyes.
The lyrics paint a picture of a sad and lonely Bella, who longs for love and warmth. She stands on a balcony, and the sighs of distant lovers surround her. But now, she is alone and only sees the red lights from her past nights of revelry. The lyrics then turn to a darker tone, as the song describes how men with empty hands and greedy hearts use her body as a second skin, and in the humid nights, she gives herself to them like a hopeless suicide. The chorus repeats, mocking the laughter and ridicule at the expense of Bella.
