Morning
Laurent Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Lay with me into the morning light theres nothing more i'd rather do
Watching sunshine slipping through the blinds
Laughing at our faces in silent conversation
It's every morning sunday cartoons
Acting like theres something to prove
But I always got time when you give me those eyes before noon

It's only human
Sometimes we just need to hide
The worlds out to get you cause your speaking your mind
It's only human
When you pick up the phone
Working on yourself that just means your alone

Lay with me into the morning light, theres nothing more i'd rather do
The only problems are the ones outside
We can lay in bed till 2
Stay with me into the morning light, theres nothing more i'd rather do
Watching sunshine slipping through the blinds
Wasting every moment with you

In the morning light
In the morning light

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Laurent's song "Morning" depict a tender and intimate moment shared between two individuals in the early hours of the day. The singer is expressing a strong desire to stay in bed with their loved one and soak in the warm morning light. The act of watching the sunshine slipping through the blinds creates a peaceful and cozy atmosphere, and the laughter shared in silent conversation implies a deep connection and comfort in each other's presence.

The reference to watching Sunday cartoons and acting like there's something to prove suggests a carefree and playful dynamic between the couple, where they can enjoy simple pleasures together. The singer expresses a willingness to make time for their partner, especially when they are met with a certain look or gesture that holds significance and draws them closer. This highlights the importance of nonverbal communication and understanding in their relationship.

The lyrics touch upon themes of vulnerability and human nature, acknowledging that sometimes it is necessary to retreat or hide from the outside world. The mention of feeling like the world is against you for speaking your mind emphasizes the struggles and pressures that individuals face in being true to themselves. The idea of working on oneself and the loneliness that may accompany personal growth is also addressed, highlighting the complexities of self-discovery and introspection.

Overall, the song celebrates the simple joys of spending time with a loved one in the morning light, away from the distractions and problems of the outside world. The repeated refrain of "lay with me into the morning light" reinforces the desire for closeness and connection, while the imagery of wasting every moment with you emphasizes the value placed on sharing meaningful experiences together. The song captures a sense of serenity and contentment found in the quiet moments of togetherness, basking in the beauty of the morning light and the bond between two people.

I was doing good until he screamed. I cried for him. I felt that because you can tell he’s hurting. Especially when your dealing with pain yourself. .If you listen to the song you can tell he was going through the motions. But perfect performance❤️Glad they have each other. That’s a blessing❤️

This is poetry, art, in motion. Unbelievably original. Les Twins don't just rock, they are creative geniuses. I cant even imagine anyone ever equaling them. They get that dance doesn't illustrate music, it responds to it in deeply personal ways which words cant touch.
