Left Spine Down Lyrics

Driving in the spike
Hard to repress
Reaching new heights
Your false intentions
?
Take a good long fucking look
'Cause this is what you've lost
Breed your infectious lies
Dollar signs in your eyes
Beg for mercy, beg for more
Can't you fucking take it, whore?
Nevermind the sinners
Now you're just a slave
I take no prisoners
And set the world ablaze
Your knees get weak
And talk is cheap
So get the fuck in line
'Cause what is yours is now mine
The lyrics of "Policy of Hypocrisy" by Left Spine Down is a critique of the corrupt nature of politics and the people who run it. The song starts with an aggressive tone, urging the listener to "halt the progress" and "drive in the spike," possibly suggesting the need for radical action to bring about change. The next line, "hard to repress, reaching new heights," could refer to the unstoppable momentum of the corrupt system.
The artist accuses those in charge of having "false intentions," and challenges them to take a closer look at what they have lost. The next verse is directed toward those who perpetuate the corrupt system, with the lines "breed your infectious lies, dollar signs in your eyes." The use of the word "whore" in the following line emphasizes the disgust and anger felt toward those who promote and benefit from the corrupt system.
The lyrics continue with the idea that the corrupt system has turned ordinary citizens into "slaves" who beg for mercy and more, indicating that people feel trapped and helpless in the face of a system they cannot control. The artist then asserts their own power, proclaiming "I take no prisoners and set the world ablaze." The final line, "what is yours is now mine," suggests that the artist believes in seizing power and taking back what has been taken from people.
