The group had three hits: the first and biggest was the nostalgic tune "Those Oldies but Goodies (Remind Me of You)", a #9 Pop and #28 R&B hit in 1961. The follow-up, "Hully Gully Again", hit #54, and subsequent release "Memories of those Oldies but Goodies" Bubbled Under at #101. They also released a full-length album on Del-Fi Records.
The group's live act sometimes included wearing togas on stage. They broke up in 1962, at least partly due to an argument between lead singer Carl Barnett and member David Johnson (who performed the spoken-word portion of "Those Oldies but Goodies") as to which of them was Little Caesar.

Turn another page, however and forever (forever, forever)
We only got one chance, the seconds are fading
Under the moonlight, we're wishing the same thing
I wanna remember, remember this moment
Remember this moment, remember this moment
Tonight, I'm thinking it's time
And it can't last, so never look back
Give me your heart and I will give you my hand
'Cause nothing's stopping you and me
From making all these memories
'Cause nothing's stopping you and me
From making all these memories
Another line begins, I wonder what comes after
We will be the same, or be in different chapters
We only got one chance before it's all over
Under the moonlight I want you to hold on
We're gonna remember, remember this moment
Remember this moment, remember this moment
Tonight, I'm thinking it's time
To burn it all down before the rest of our lives
And it can't last, so never look back
Give me your heart and I will give you my hand
'Cause nothing's stopping you and me
From making all these memories
'Cause nothing's stopping you and me
From making all these memories
This is it, we're never getting that back
I'll admit I'll always become partly hers
(One last night to remember)
This is it, we're never getting that back
I'll admit I'll always become partly hers
(Let's take this world together, now)
Tonight, I'm thinking it's time
To burn it all down before the rest of our lives
And it can't last, so never look back
Give me your heart and I will give you my hand
'Cause nothing's stopping you and me
From making all these memories
'Cause nothing's stopping you and me
From making all these memories
'Cause nothing's stopping you and me (one last night to remember)
'Cause nothing's stopping you and me (let's take this world together)
The song "Memories" by Little Caesar & The Romans is about savoring a moment with a loved one and making unforgettable memories together. The lyrics convey that life is unpredictable and we only have one chance to create special moments that we can cherish forever. The singer urges his partner to seize the moment and make the most of their time together.
The first stanza sets the tone for the song, with the singer acknowledging that their journey together is at an end. He talks about turning another page and how they only have one chance to create a lasting memory. As they stand under the moonlight, the singer calls out to his partner to remember the moment they shared together. In the second verse, the singer wonders what the future holds and whether they will still be together in the future. He emphasizes that they should take advantage of every opportunity they have to create lasting memories.
The chorus talks about how nothing can stop them from creating memories and urges his partner to give him their heart so that they can be together. The bridge of the song sees the singer recognizing that their time together is limited and that this moment will always be partly theirs. He pleads with his partner to take this world together and make it a night to remember. Overall, "Memories" is a powerful reminder to cherish the present moment and to create lasting memories with the people we love.
